Breaking News: Chelsea reach agreement to sign player for ‘exorbitant amount’ – Blues sorting payment method

Germán García Grova, an Argentine journalist, revealed last Thursday that Chelsea and Boca Juniors have reached an agreement in principle for the signing of Aaron Anselmino during the summer transfer season.

Additionally, he stated that the Blues want the defender in Europe, but the Argentine club wants him back on loan until December.

The 19-year-old’s transfer to the Premier League team, according to Olé, has now reached a “decisive stage.”

After days of negotiations, Boca Juniors reportedly came to an agreement to sell the centre back to Chelsea for a “exorbitant amount,” according to TyC Sports.

Paying $18 million [£14.2 million], Enzo Maresca’s squad is reportedly calling this “exorbitant” given that the young player has only appeared in 10 games since being promoted to Boca Juniors’ main team in 2023.
TyC Sports asserts that Anselmino’s six-year contract at Stamford Bridge indicates his long-term commitment to the Premier League team.

Chelsea has indicated that they will not be triggering his release clause by concluding the financial arrangement. The player’s request to return to Boca Juniors on loan for an additional year is being examined by the Blues as well; Chelsea may choose to end the player’s tenure in December.

As soon as Chelsea settles these issues, the deal is expected to close.
