Prior to this summer, the 25-year-old saved Dallas $20 million in cap space.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys reportedly reworked the contract of their standout wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, making a significant roster change.
According to Todd Archer of ESPN, the move gives the Cowboys $20 million in salary cap room going into the 2025 campaign. Lamb gave an explanation for his decision to restructure in a tweet after the report was released.
He posted, “I want to win,” on X (previously Twitter). “It’s gonna take more than just myself.”

A selfless act on the part of the 25-year-old.
Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract last August, and his contract adjustment comes just one year into it. According to Over the Cap, the Cowboys have just under $18 million in salary cap space left over after nearly 20 unrestricted free agents are set to become available for the upcoming season.
In an interview with Jon Machota of The Athletic last month, EVP Stephen Jones stated that the team intends to be “selectively aggressive” when the NFL’s new league year begins the following week. Hopefully, their recently tinkered-with contract with their three-time All-Pro wide receiver will enable them to do so.
For the first time since 2020, the Cowboys missed the playoffs after finishing just 7-10 in the previous campaign. After the campaign, they fired Mike McCarthy, and Brian Schottenheimer will be their next head coach.

As Dallas embarks on a crucial offseason, it now has greater financial flexibility.

According to Todd Archer of ESPN, the Dallas Cowboys reworked the contract of their standout wide receiver CeeDee Lamb on Tuesday to free up $20 million in cap space.
The move provides the Cowboys more financial flexibility as they make a number of crucial decisions this summer, chief among them being the pursuit of a pricey contract extension by Dallas standout pass rusher Micah Parsons.
Last August, Lamb agreed to a four-year, $136 million contract that would keep him there through the 2028 campaign. His revised contract’s specifics have not yet been made public.

This information was released soon after defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa and the Cowboys agreed to a four-year, $80 million contract on Tuesday.
In 2024, the receiver recorded 152 receptions for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns, his sixth season in Dallas. Due to an injured shoulder, he was unable to play in the season’s final two games.
