Man City stings Arsenal once more as Pep Guardiola “hijacks” an intriguing transfer.
For some months, Arsenal has been in the lead to recruit Ryan McAidoo, the sensational young player from Chelsea, but it has now been reported that Manchester City has agreed to ‘hijack’ the trade.

Manchester City has signed Chelsea wonderkid Ryan McAidoo, who was apparently close to joining the north London club, and Arsenal supporters will be furious about this development.
For a number of months, the Gunners were thought to be getting close to signing Chelsea’s 16-year-old McAidoo, and they were seen as the favourites to land the young star. But according to Fabrizio Romano, City has thwarted Arsenal’s attempt to get McAidoo, and he will now play at the Etihad rather than the Emirates Stadium.
According to the report, when the player decided to sign for them, City outmanoeuvred many Premier League clubs to negotiate a deal for the young talent to join their academy. Even if the young kid doesn’t appear to be close to playing for the first team, the Gunners will be greatly disappointed in losing the opportunity to develop McAidoo as a player and realise his full potential.
In the U18 Premier League, McAidoo has only made four appearances for Chelsea. In the European Championship qualifying tournament, he has also twice represented England at the U17 level, playing against Northern Ireland and Hungary. Pep Guardiola, though, has taken note of McAidoo’s remarkable ball control, pace, accurate passing, and shooting abilities and is eager to put him to the test at the Etihad Campus.
Emile Smith of Arsenal In “advanced talks” to sign a USA international, Rowe price is high, but the Gunners midfielder is not in a rush to leave Chelsea as the contentious transfer policy persists.
This is just another win for City against their Premier League opponents; they have now defeated them twice in a row in the race for the championship, while Arsenal had to settle for second place. Mikel Arteta’s squad almost missed the title in the 2022–2023 season, even though they appeared to be contenders at the end.
With just three wins in their previous nine games, Arsenal’s supporters have let Guardiola’s team catch up and overtake them, leaving them to ponder what may have been. The 2023–24 season saw significantly closer competition between City and Arsenal, who faced off in the season’s last game.

The Cityzens prevailed once more. In order to win their first league title in twenty years, Arsenal had to beat Everton, but they also needed West Ham to beat their rivals from Manchester. Although the Gunners fulfilled their part, City eventually overcame the Hammers 3-1 to win the Premier League by a heartbreaking two points.
Arteta will be smarting once more since City has handed him another blow by grabbing a player who was destined for Arsenal. As if that wasn’t already excruciating enough. Transfers between City and Arsenal have not always gone as planned. For a cool £45 million, Arteta brought Gabriel Jesus to the Emirates in 2022.
Even though he was a star under Guardiola, scoring 58 goals in 159 games for the team, he has struggled to fit in with the Gunners’ brand of football. The forward is no longer a sure starter having only managed to score 15 goals in his 53 appearances in Arsenal colours (four in the most recent season and 11 in his debut campaign). The same is true for Oleksandr Zinchenko, the Euro 2024 star, who struggled in his final season and was sometimes left off the team.
