Arthur Okonkwo, a young goalie for Arsenal, has declared he will be leaving the team at the conclusion of his contract.

It was anticipated that the 22-year-old would be departing the team this summer because his contract at the Emirates Stadium expires at the end of the month. Last summer, Okonkwo joined Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham after loan stints at Crewe Alexandra and Sturm Graz.

After a disastrous start to the League Two season, Ben Foster, a former custodian in the Premier League, announced his retirement from football a few weeks into the season. Okonkwo was signed to take his position. Throughout his 40 appearances during the course of the season in North Wales, the young player showed promise.

During that period, he kept a very respectable 16 clean sheets while only giving up 35 goals. Now that he’s helped the Red Dragons get promoted to League One, Okonkwo might be on the summer wish lists of Hollywood celebrities.

“The time has come to say goodbye Arsenal,” Okonkwo said on Instagram to announce his exit from the Emirates Stadium. I was eight years old when I joined the club in 2009, and I have so many amazing memories from those more than fifteen years.

“I have formed lifelong friendships with all of the coaches I have worked with, players I have played with, supporters I have received, and everyone else associated with the club for their invaluable contributions in shaping me into the player and person I am today. I will always have a soft spot for Arsenal, and I wish them well in the upcoming years.
