BREAKING: £100M world-class striker have finally reached verbal agreement to join Chelsea by January

After an insider revealed Mikel Arteta’s attitude and the five strikers the Gunners have their eye on emerged, it seems doubtful that Arsenal will revive their interest in signing Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan.

The Nigerian striker, who spent four seasons on the Amalfi Coast with Napoli, is considered one of the best in the game after scoring an astounding 76 goals in 133 appearances. Due to this, there was a great demand for his services during the summer transfer window. Chelsea was at the forefront of this, making every effort to sign him on what ended up being a very eventful transfer deadline day.

However, Osimhen was left in transfer limbo as the Blues were unable to come to an agreement, and he was finally forced to sign a season-long loan with Galatasaray after Napoli signed Romelu Lukaku to replace him.

When the transfer window reopens in January, TEAMtalk sources confirm that Chelsea will still be vying for Osimhen’s signature. The Blues are said to be in “constant contact” with the player’s entourage, and Enzo Maresca’s team is one of the teams listed as part of the striker’s 10-team break clause, which was added to his Gala loan contract.

Rumors have surfaced recently, though, suggesting that Arsenal may revive their pursuit of the player during the winter transfer window. The Gunners are among the teams authorized to negotiate a move with Napoli should their offer match that club’s asking price.

Although it is exceedingly doubtful that the Gunners will revive their interest, knowledgeable Arsenal journalist Charles Watts says as much, writing in his Caught Offside column: “I just don’t really see it happening in terms of Arsenal.” I would be shocked if Arsenal pursued Osimhen in January since, as I’ve already stated, I haven’t actually been informed about their interest in him since the summer of 2022, when they ultimately decided to pursue Gabriel Jesus instead.

“I believe that another striker they pursue—if and when they do—might have a slightly different profile than the Nigerian international. In any case, they are currently quite satisfied with what Kai Havertz has to offer them in the central striker position.
