BREAKING: Liverpool and Chelsea are behind Arsenal in the title race by five points in the next five Premier League games. As the Arteta team plays three tough teams, one of them is on the ban list.
Arsenal got 2025 off to a great start by beating Brentford 3-1 in the Premier League. This put them back in second place in the table. Bryan Mbeumo scored the first goal, but the Gunners scored three goals in a row to get back within six points of Liverpool, who was in first place.
After Mbeumo’s early goal, David Raya almost gave his old team a second when he failed to stop a Keane Lewis-Potter shot. The ball went over his head, but he was able to grab it and clear the line. The game changed a lot after that, though, because Gabriel Jesus tied it up in the next 60 seconds.
After that, Mikel Merino scored from a loose corner early in the second half, and Gabriel Martinelli scored the third goal right after. It was a huge win for Arsenal because Brentford had only lost one home game before Arsenal came to town. Liverpool and Nottingham Forest had also won.
