The fact that Bayern Munich is currently in negotiations with Eric Dier regarding a new contract has been confirmed.
It comes after Harry Kane admitted that he would ‘love’ Dier to remain at Bayern beyond this summer, despite the fact that it appeared unlikely at the time that this particular scenario would occur.
With their current contracts set to expire in the summer, Dier is now one of three Bayern players who are currently in discussions with Vincent Kompany’s side regarding the possibility of extending their contracts.
In a recent statement, Bayern director Christoph Freund was quoted as saying, “We are in talks with Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, and Eric Dier over new deals.” This information was provided by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The talisman Kane, who has also played with the defender at Tottenham and England, will find that to be both reassuring and a source of musical inspiration.
Kane expressed his desire for Dier to remain with the team in an interview that was published in the Daily Mail one month ago. He stated, “Eric has been great, he has been waiting patiently.”
As a result of the fact that Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae have consistently performed exceptionally well this season, Eric has been forced to wait patiently.
“Eric has come in for the last couple of games and done really, really well. He has also gotten two clean sheets, so yeah, of course I would love for him to extend his contract. I suppose that situation is between him and the club.

However, Dier is now in a position to remain in Germany after turning in some impressive performances over the course of a few weeks. He was formerly a defender for Spurs.
“Concrete talks between FC Bayern and Eric Dier over a new contract until 2026 have begun,” wrote Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Sky Germany, in a post that was published on X.
“Although it has not yet been finalised, both parties are now very open to the possibility of an extension.
A contract extension for Dier was no longer being ruled out at Bayern, as was disclosed on March 14th. This was primarily due to the fact that he has been performing exceptionally well over the past few weeks.
Both Kane and Dier have played together for a total of 390 games across six different teams over the course of their careers.
There were 309 occasions when the two players played together at Tottenham, and there have been 37 occasions when they have played together for England combined.
After initially joining the Bundesliga club on loan from Tottenham in January 2024, Dier’s transfer to the Bundesliga club was eventually made permanent not long after that.
The defender, who is 31 years old, has participated in 38 matches for Bayern.
