Aston Villa offer Boubacar Kamara ‘historic’ contract that no other player in club history has received

According to a new report, Aston Villa is prepared to make an offer to star midfielder Boubacar Kamara that would be a record-breaking contract that would be considered “historic.”

Throughout Unai Emery’s tenure as manager, the Frenchman, who is also capable of playing at centre back, has been an essential member of the team.

In the summer of 2022, he signed with Villa as a free agent from Marseille. During his nearly three-year tenure with the club that won the European Cup once, he has made 61 appearances in the Premier League.

According to Statmuse, Villa was unable to win 11 out of 18 Premier League games over the course of the previous season because Kamara was either unavailable or injured. This resulted in five losses for the franchise.

In February of 2024, Kamara sustained an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which caused him to be unavailable for the majority of that period of time. He did not return to the Villa fold until October of that same year. Since then, he has participated in a total of 29 competitions across all categories.

In addition, it has been asserted that his impact on the team is going to be rewarded with a new contract that will be historic in nature.

Despite competition from other elite European clubs, Villa is reportedly planning to offer Kamara a contract that has “never been seen in the club’s history.” This comes in the wake of interest from other clubs in Europe.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, Villa’s upcoming opponents in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, have all been mentioned as potential candidates for the 25-year-old midfielder’s transfer. In 2027, his current contract will come to an end.

According to Spotrac, the highest earner at the Midlands club at the moment is a three-way tie between Emiliano Martinez, Youri Tielemans, and Kamara, who each earn a weekly salary of £150,000.

The team managed by Emery is also responsible for paying seventy-five percent of Marcus Rashford’s salary at Manchester United, which is reportedly somewhere around twenty-four hundred and fifty thousand pounds per week. The possibility exists for Villa to make Rashford’s loan a permanent one this summer; however, it is not known what his new salary would be in the event that this option is exercised.

In an interview with Sky Sports that took place in January 2025, Emery stated the following about Kamara: “He has got a lot of potential.” The potential is enormous. The fact that he is performing well and is so intent on enhancing his game means that it is now my responsibility to help him develop even further.

He possesses a tremendous mentality. It has been two years since we moved into this location, and ever since then, we have been observing his progress ever so gradually. Although he has sustained an injury, he is continuing to make progress. After his injury, he returned to the pitch and played even better than he had before.
