Aston Villa join race to compete with Man United for Serie superstar attacker valued at €60-70m this Summer

The transfer of Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee to the Premier League has been rumored for some time now.

Several English clubs are interested in signing him, and according to BolognaSportNews, Aston Villa is one of them.

With eleven goals in all competitions this season, the 22-year-old Dutchman has been absolutely sensational. Along the process, he has also accumulated six assists.

Aston Villa faces stiff competition from clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle United for the player’s signature.

The team from the West Midlands is looking to strengthen their offensive lineup. This season, they have relied too much on Ollie Watkins. It is unclear where the Dutch striker ends up, but he is likely intrigued by Premier League moves.

Further attacking depth is also required by Arsenal. Given Gabriel Jesus’ lackluster performance, Zirkzee may find himself tasked with scoring goals alongside the Brazilian striker.

His age makes him a potential long-term successor for Newcastle’s Callum Wilson, who is now in his 30s. Unfortunately, Wilson is no stranger to injury, and his availability is still an issue.

He and Rasmus Hojlund might be Manchester United’s primary goal scorers. The young Dane is still getting used to the Premier League, but he has already made an impact.

Whoever signs the 22-year-old striker will have a great long-term prospect with the skills to succeed in English football.

It will be intriguing to watch whether clubs like Aston Villa can afford to pay the rumored €60-70 million for the striker.
