Aston Villa and PSG players had brilliant reaction to Europa League anthem mistakenly being played at Villa park

After a significant error was made in advance of Aston Villa’s Champions League match versus Paris Saint-Germain, both sets of players were left bewildered at Villa Park. The match was scheduled to take place in Manchester.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) came to Villa Park on Tuesday evening with the intention of preserving their 3-1 advantage from the first leg. It was necessary for the Parisians to come back from a 1-0 deficit in order to clinch their two-goal advantage. Goals scored by Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes sealed the victory.

In the meantime, Unai Emery is attempting to guide his Villa team into the last four of the European football competition in the hopes of achieving yet another fantastic night in the sport.

There was a significant error that occurred before the game began when the tannoy system inside the stadium played the theme music for the Europa League rather than the anthem for the Champions League event.

As a result of their reactions on social media, fans were left perplexed, and the players themselves were left with looked of confusion on their faces.

There was a fan who said, “Omg, the PSG players.”

During the match between Aston Villa and Paris Saint-Germain, another user wrote, “Why were they playing the Europa League anthem?” Every single one of the players was giggling.

Another fan chimed in, saying, “The players appeared to be very perplexed.”

Someone else submitted the following: “Not Aston Villa’s DJ playing the Europa league anthem instead of the Champions League anthem players were visibly confused and just burst out laughing.”

An additional fifth person made the following observation: “Hahaha, someone is going to be fired in the morning for playing the Europa League anthem instead of the authentic one.” It was the expressions on the players’ faces.

It was only a few seconds before the start of the contest when the Champions League song was finally performed.

Commentator John Murray stated the following as he was appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live: “I’ve been told that they have played the Europa League anthem.” For Villa, let us hope that this is the final step that they have failed to take this evening.

Sky Sports reporter Adam Bate added: “Strange to hear the Europa League song booming out as the players lined up, some perplexed expressions among them. After a while, we were treated to a quick burst of the music from the Champions League.

A mistake made by Emiliano Martinez allowed Paris Saint-Germain to take the lead after 11 minutes, which made the situation much more difficult for the Premier League team. Achraf Hakimi capitalised on the error.
