Throughout the probe, he has been a consistent presence at the Emirates, making 52 appearances in all competitions last season.

“Unable to comment” is how the Premier League team puts it.

A statement from Arsenal regarding the incident and their stance has been posted by BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel:

“On June 30, the player’s contract expired. The club is unable to comment on the case due to current legal actions.

The player’s ability to continue working while the investigation was underway, according to Dino Nocivelli, a lawyer who represents survivors of sexual abuse, sent the incorrect message. He maintained that he ought to have been placed on suspension until the case was resolved.

Partey paid £45 million to join Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020, and he. has been a member of the first squad ever since. A few days before he was charged, his contract was let to expire, despite the fact that he was in negotiations for an extension
