Arsenal new signing injured during an international match, we to miss the rest of the season- BAD NEWS

After suffering an injury during Italy’s 3-1 Nations League victory over France this evening, Arsenal will have to wait anxiously to see if new recruit Riccardo Calafiori is fit.
After Ousmane Dembele collided with the left-back in the second half, the 22-year-old, who signed with the Gunners in the summer from Bologna, was substituted out due to a calf/ankle issue. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem extremely serious.

“We need to assess Riccardo but with our staff, we’ve a good chance to have him back with us for the next game [against Israel on Monday],” head coach Luciano Spalletti stated following the match.

After the incident, Calafiori attempted to continue playing, but he was replaced after 71 minutes.

The incident overshadowed the Azzurri’s thrilling victory, as they overcame a minute-long opener from Bradley Barcola to win in Paris for the first time in almost 70 years.

On a night William Saliba will never forget, Federico Dimarco tied the score after thirty minutes. Davide Frattesi and Giacomo Raspadori then sealed the triumph in the second half.
