Arsenal legend’s regret over two summer transfer deals as he identifies area for concern

The great Alan Smith of Arsenal is concerned about their strike alternatives and regrets to see two of the team’s best young players go.

The former England and Arsenal striker believes that Mikel Arteta, the manager, made a wise choice in adding Chelsea star Raheem Sterling on deadline day. However, the Sky Sports pundit said that he hoped his former team hadn’t had to let go of Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe as they attempt to eventually unseat Manchester City in the Premier League. For an estimated £25 million, forward Nketiah, 25, signed with Crystal Palace, and midfielder Smith Rowe, 24, went across London to Fulham for almost the same amount.

Smith stated: “The academy boys have made good money thanks to Arsenal.” Smith Rowe and Nketiah departed for large sums of money, while [Reiss] Nelson was loaned out. Because of the new financial guidelines that the clubs must follow, that provided them with a chance to generate some much-needed dollars. The exits of Smith Rowe and Nketiah are likely causing some grief. Selling your academy lads will always result in that, but it’s now a part of the experience. Teams want them as sellable assets, and the books needed to be balanced.

Smith is particularly worried about their lack of depth up front for the next season. He said, “I do think the Gunners are a bit light through the middle in the striker position,” in an interview with CasinosApps.Gabriel Jesus is now out due to injury, and it’s unclear when he will be fully recovered.
It’s difficult to trust him. It’s not ideal, but you have to make do with what you have if he is wounded. A perfect world would have seen Arteta bring someone in, but the striker he desired was not available. You have to be concerned about depth with that one aspect of the Arsenal roster. I’m crossing my fingers that Kai Havertz is not hurt.
