BREAKING: Arsenal have clear Alexander Isak transfer alternative as fee agreed and clause confirmed

Alexander Isak of Newcastle United is still being linked to an Arsenal summer transfer raid.

According to the most recent sources, Arsenal has worked hard to find summer transfer prospects besides Alexander Isak.

Although the Magpies do not want to part with their primary goal scorer, David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that the Gunners are still interested in signing the Newcastle United striker this summer. Barcelona and Liverpool have joined Mikel Arteta’s list of clubs interested in signing Isak as a result of his impressive performances this season.

Ornstein asserts that Arsenal has a definite alternative in mind this summer as they seek to expand their striker options, albeit cautioning that every player has a price. However, it has been stated that the Gunners are not contemplating Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ornstein responded, “They will obviously have multiple options on their radar, but the only name I’ve personally heard of so far — which others have already reported — is Alexander Isak,” when asked which attacker Liverpool was interested in this summer.

“Liverpool’s fondness for the Swede is not unique. We are aware that Mikel Arteta wants to sign him, and Chelsea and Barcelona have also been mentioned. If the chance to get him came up, I’m sure many other teams would be interested as well.

However, that is a hefty “if.” Naturally, Newcastle doesn’t want to sell their finest player, and they don’t want this kind of talk. Isak is extremely well paid, has more than three years left on his current deal, and the St. James’ Park administration has no financial incentive to cash in.

“Every player has a price, and although I’m not aware of Newcastle setting one for Isak specifically, the industry-wide figure that tends to be in the neighbourhood is approximately £150 million.

“There might be a discussion if teams are willing to make such outrageous offers, but Newcastle has the upper hand in this situation and their strategy will be to develop with him rather than without him.

“Liverpool is not the kind of team to play a wild goose chase; they will only entertain a deal if Isak is actually available. However, I do believe—I’m sorry, Newcastle supporters—that his future will be a major topic of discussion both before and throughout the summer transfer window.

“To the best of my knowledge, Arsenal will have worked hard on a number of options, but none more so than [Benjamin] Sesko. As you point out, Isak is interested in Sesko, and they are not the only team vying for his services, so that doesn’t imply they will sign him.

“Personally, I haven’t heard of Hugo Ekitike or any other candidates being as high in the thinking as those two at this stage, but that can always change, of course.”

With a €70 million (£57.9 million) release clause in his contract with RB Leipzig, Sekso can already go this summer for the agreed upon price. According to the most recent German publications, the release clause, which expires at the conclusion of his contract, can be exercised this summer.

Football.london is aware that the Gunners have kept an eye on Sesko and are still interested in signing him, even if they were unable to get him in the summer.
