Arsenal could land ‘dream’ second signing after Viktor Gyokeres that would terrify Premier League rivals

If Arsenal can complete both transactions, the summer window will be one to remember.

Arsenal has ‘a real prospect’ of completing a €90 million [£77.3 million] deal for their ‘dream’ transfer target, according to sources, as they move in on signing Viktor Gyokeres.

Mikel Arteta could have a new-look forward line when the 2025/26 season begins, with Gyokeres moving closer to being their first big-money signing of the summer after months of speculation.

This week, French daily L’Equipe stated that Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is driving conversations about Gyokeres’ transfer.

In reality, the Sweden international is claimed to have notified Arsenal of his desire to join them, with his agent Hasan Cetinkaya approaching a verbal agreement.

The acquisition of Gyokeres, who has been one of Europe’s best-performing strikers in recent seasons, hitting 52 goals in all competitions, would undoubtedly be a statement of intent from the Arsenal.

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes reacts to the Rodrygo links.
Last month, international teammate Gabriel was asked whether he had any inside information on Rodrygo and his future.

“I do not. “No, not really,” he said on the Podpah Podcast. But, of course, I would like it. Rodrygo is a phenomenon to me. He is not at Arsenal. I’ve already told people that he’s a sensation. His name gets mentioned a lot. “If it were up to me, of course.”

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso has downplayed speculation about Rodrygo’s future.

“Rodrygo is a Real Madrid player, and I will speak with everyone who is part of Real Madrid,” he remarked a month ago. “Rodrygo is a terrific player, and we will need him. He deserves it, as do we.”
