Given that other new teams have entered the competition for Benjamin Sesko, Mikel Arteta may have to make a tough decision.
Given that Benjamin Sesko has to make a significant decision on his future, Arsenal may have to think about doing a dramatic U-turn with the striker.
It became evident right away when the transfer window opened in early June that the top Premier League teams seeking to acquire a new striker would be the focus of the summer’s major stories.
As of right now, Liverpool is concentrating on getting Florian Wirtz, Manchester United has landed Matheus Cunha, Chelsea has signed Liam Delap, while Arsenal is looking to finalize the acquisition of Sesko.
But according to a recent report by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, a number of other teams have entered the fight for the Red Bull Leipzig star’s signing, so the Gunners may need to reevaluate their pursuit of him.
Romano stated in a post on X that Sesko has been contacted by a number of Saudi Pro League clubs with significant offers in the last few hours, forcing him to make a decision on his future.
Romano stated that negotiations are scheduled to take place over the next several days, but he did not specify which clubs were specifically interested in signing Sesko or what they were willing to offer him.
Sesko would probably become one of the most paid players in the world if he chose to sign with a Saudi team, earning easily over €500,000.
In order to address their obvious issues up front, Arsenal would have to swiftly alter their plans and attempt to buy a different striker over the summer. This would put them in a very challenging position.
Fortunately for Mikel Arteta, there are a number of other elite strikers who are keen to sign a contract in the summer, including Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.
A deal for Sesko is still possible, though, as Romano also disclosed that he is aware that the 22-year-old’s goal at this point is to continue his career in Europe, so it would probably take an incredible offer to entice him to leave the Premier League.
This season, Sesko has made 45 appearances for RB Leipzig in all competitions, contributing six assists and scoring 21 goals.
