Arsenal unintentionally disclosed another addition to Mikel Arteta’s team when they announced the acquisition of Noni Madueke.
Despite announcing their fourth summer acquisition, Arsenal seems to have unintentionally revealed the news of another coming.
The North London team has been quite active in the transfer market, acquiring Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Martin Zubimendi before acquiring Noni Madueke from Chelsea for £48 million and offering him a five-year contract.
Viktor Gyokeres, a striker for Sporting CP, is still a target for Arsenal, but the parties are still at war over the add-ons agreement.
But following a social media mishap, a fifth acquisition appears to have been confirmed.
Fans saw that images of Spain and Valencia center back Cristhian Mosquera were posted on Getty with photos of Madueke conducting his required interviews, but the images were later removed.
Speaking to a member of Arsenal’s media staff, the 21-year-old was seen grinning while wearing the team’s training uniform.
Many fans noticed the error, which most likely means that Mosquera’s arrival will soon be confirmed by an official announcement.
Fabrizio Romano announced earlier this week that the Spain Under 21 international, who would sign a long-term contract worth €15 million with add-ons, would have a medical on Wednesday.
Madueke, who was born and raised in North London and played in the youth system at Arsenal’s rival Spurs before joining PSV, has, nevertheless, expressed his happiness at the completion of the trade.
He said on the club’s official website, “I tend to follow my instincts a lot and I think they’ve led me in the right direction so far.”
Therefore, I don’t believe that things will be any different here. I’m thrilled to be here and believe it will be a huge success.
“I’ve just been calmly awaiting the all-clear, and everything felt real when I arrived today. It’s a fantastic time for me because I’m so proud and delighted. Returning home and spending time with my parents is wonderful. I am aware that my mother is missing me at home.
