Arne Slot breaks silence on Darwin Nunez training ground ‘bust-up’ as Liverpool absence explained

Arne Slot has replied to allegations that Darwin Nunez had a “bust-up” at the training field, which has been presented as the reason for his absence from Liverpool.

Following their shocking loss to Fulham by a score of 3-2, Liverpool made their way back into the win column by defeating West Ham United by a score of 2-1 over the weekend.

Due to the fact that there were reports going about that Nunez had been engaged in an incident that occurred on the training ground the day before, he was not picked as a substitute for their victory against West Ham and instead sat in the stands.

Slot was asked about Nunez at his pre-match press conference, which took place before his team’s match against Leicester City. Slot responded by stating that the forward’s absence from the squad was not due to an injury or sickness.

When Slot was asked about Nunez’s absence from Liverpool’s training session, he responded by saying, “He didn’t feel himself the day before the match, and he went inside, and he wasn’t able to be a part of the team the day after.”

Slot stated that the Uruguayan will be included in the team for the match that will take place on Sunday. However, when questioned about how he was not feeling himself, Slot responded, “That can mean multiple things, yes.” He did not even feel like himself.

“No, he did not,” the Liverpool manager said in response to a question about whether or not the 25-year-old player had spoken with a member of the staff. It is true that he left the pitch because he did not feel like himself, which means that he did not have a conversation with a member of the staff.

Nunez has only seven goals to his record this season, which is a significant drop from the previous season, when he scored 18 goals across many tournaments.

The latest transfer news on Darwin Nunez’s future with Liverpool comes from Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer market for the month of January was filled with rumours that Nunez would be leaving Liverpool, and he has been the subject of significant speculation over his future.

According to Romano, his time at Anfield is coming to an end, and it is anticipated that he will decide to leave the club during the summer.

The transfer specialist wrote on X, “The plan has been clear since February, and it hasn’t changed: Darwin Nunez, who is anticipated to leave Liverpool in the summer.”

All of the available choices will be taken into consideration in the coming months, after the club’s decision in January to decline an offer from Al Nassr.

“Darwin, also open to new chapter.”

There is a widespread belief that clubs in Spain and Saudi Arabia are keeping a close eye on Nunez’s status in preparation for the reopening of the transfer market this summer.
