Andy Robertson linked with shock move away from Liverpool as Fabrizio Romano drops transfer bombshell

Trent Alexander-Arnold might soon reunite with closest buddy Andy Robertson after leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid.

Trent Alexander-Arnold might face former Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson in a quick reunion on the pitch after joining Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold was officially announced as a Real Madrid player this week, becoming the club’s second acquisition of the summer, and spoke Spanish at his introduction.

The England international signed in time for the Club World Cup in the United States, with Los Blancos paying Liverpool Β£8.4 million to ensure he can compete in the competition, which begins on Saturday night.

Despite some fans’ hatred, Alexander-Arnold received an emotional send-off at his boyhood club Liverpool, as he concluded a 20-year affiliation and left friends behind.

However, it has been rumored that Robertson may be joining him in the Spanish city.

The Scotland captain, who became close friends with Alexander-Arnold at Anfield, is claimed to be “appreciated internally” by Real Madrid’s rivals Atletico.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Saturday morning that Robertson is Atletico’s favorite prospect, ranking ahead of AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez in their priorities.

However, the Italian said that it is “not an easy” deal, even though Liverpool is expected to continue their summer rebuild with the signing of Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

Robertson, who joined from Hull for Β£8 million in 2017, has made 342 appearances and won two Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

Under Jurgen Klopp, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold redefined what it means to be a full-back in the modern game, scoring and assisting from defence.

After Alexander-Arnold confirmed his departure from Liverpool, Robertson paid respect to the 26-year-old and thanked him for helping him improve his overall game.

“He kept pushing me through the good years, and he made a decision,” Robertson told Sky Sports.

“I believe his impact on the club is clear to all. The trophies he has won, as well as the historical moments he has experienced, will always be with him.

“It’s an emotional decision, and it hasn’t been easy. He’s made his decision, and it’s unfortunate to witness a friend booed, but as I previously stated, we can’t tell people how to act.

“I’ll tell you how I feel; I’m very pleased of what he’s done for the club. I adore him as a friend and player, and he will be missed as one of my closest friends in the game.”
