Port Vale has criticized the spike in hate speech on their social media platforms.
The League One club issued a sharply worded statement on Saturday, describing some of the language in their posts as ‘disgusting’.

Port Vale Statement
The club statement read: “We have noted an increase in hate speech and remarks throughout the football club’s social media outlets and the club’s charity, the Port Vale Foundation.
“Honestly, the profanity used so freely and openly is horrible.
“We are tremendously happy to be a football club that promotes diversity and social inclusion, and we will no longer tolerate the flood of hate directed at specific individuals or groups based on their ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or otherwise.
“To put this clearly and simply, the views and the people that hold them are not welcome at Port Vale Football Club.”
The majority of the hate speech appears to have been shared on the club’s Facebook page rather than their X and Instagram profiles.
Port Vale, who are at the bottom of League One, are preparing for a crucial FA Cup quarter-final meeting at Chelsea after the international break.
Their post comes just hours after Liverpool issued its own statement condemning racial insults directed at defender Ibrahima Konate.
The France international received abuse on social media following the Reds’ 4-0 victory over Galatasaray.
Konate’s challenge with Victor Osimhen resulted in a shattered forearm for Galatasaray.”It is dehumanizing, cowardly, and hateful,” the club stated.

“Racism has no place in football, no place in society and no place anywhere – online or offline.”Our players aren’t targets. They are human creatures. The abuse that continues to be aimed at players, frequently disguised behind anonymous accounts, is a blemish on the game and the systems that allow it to exist.”
Last month, the Premier League announced that it was looking into four cases of racial abuse directed at top-flight players.
The Premier League responded to Liverpool’s statement by stating that anyone who abuses others is not welcome in our game and is not a loyal fan.We will collaborate with sports teams, law enforcement, and social media firms to prioritize addressing this issue.Individuals who are identified and found guilty of prejudice will face the most severe repercussions, including club bans and legal prosecution.”
