“Amorim is a good coach but he still have alot to learn… This guy who was the best player under Erik ten Hag is now the worst player at Man United under Ruben”: Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola names ONE Man United’s player who was the best player under Ten Hag and now the worst player due to Ruben Amorim’s frivolous tactical experiments

Paul Scholes claims that Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United appears to be lost in the wilderness.

This season, the English midfielder has been moved around a lot. In the most recent defeat at home to Crystal Palace, he was startlingly used as a false nine.

The surprise was increased by benching goal-averse forwards Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as a result of this move. It might be too much to ask of a young player who made a strong first-team debut the previous season.

[3-4-2-1]: Amad returns to his preferred position, Onana is benched, and the academy striker is promoted. Ruben Amorim made some daring lineup changes against Tottenham.

He continued to draw attention after his outstanding performances earned him a place in England’s Euro 2024 squad. However, Mainoo has been forced to fill in as manager Ruben Amorim tries to come up with a winning plan after another turbulent season at Old Trafford.

During The Overlap Fan Debate, Scholes expressed his concerns about the 19-year-old prodigy, saying, “I think Mainoo is lost.” As I’ve previously discussed Declan Rice’s lack of direction, I believe Mainoo is also lost. They are unsure of how to handle him.

According to the Mirror, “I don’t think he knows where to play on a football pitch because he’s been played in one of the number 10 positions, which I can see probably doesn’t suit him because I don’t think the greatest athlete.”

He is an excellent football player. The number 10 seems appropriate to me, but the false nine is never in a million years.

Scholes also discussed the club’s general problems, emphasising that in order to avoid the nightmare of a relegation scrap, it is imperative that they build a strong spine this summer. “That spine, that core is so important,” he cautioned.

“If they fail to do that correctly this summer… They may be considering relegation based on their recent performance under this manager, which may sound absurd. It has been awful, I tell you.
