With the Championship season entering its last quarter, all 24 teams in the division will be striving to meet their individual short-term goals for the balance of the season.
At the moment, it seems like a dramatic finale to the season at both ends of the table, with automatic promotion, play-off, and relegation slots all up for grabs.
As a result, every manager/head coach will be relying on his attackers’ prolificacy between now and May, with the scoring statistics also severely crowded as a slew of players compete for the Championship’s ‘Golden Boot’.
With that said, Football League World has placed each club’s ‘leading’ striker in order of greatest to worst.
1Zan Vipotnik – Swansea City

Swansea City’s Zan Vipotnik presently leads the Championship strikers’ rankings.
The Swans have had an uneven collective season, but the same cannot be said for the Slovenian’s individual efforts, which have included scoring a variety of goals and keeping a predatory instinct within the 18-yard box.
Unsurprisingly, Premier League clubs have taken notice of such performances, implying that the Welsh side may face a battle to keep him on the team in the future.
2 Josh Sargent – Norwich City

In terms of longevity, Josh Sargent would be at the top of the list due to his consistent performances for Norwich City over the years.
While the USMNT international has amassed another decent tally after reaching double figures in three consecutive seasons despite injury concerns, the 25-year-old has recently damaged his image at Carrow Road.
Indeed, during the now-closed winter window, Philippe Clement demoted Sargent to the Canaries’ reserve side after declaring himself ‘unavailable’ for an FA Cup fixture against Walsall due to interest from Toronto FC.
3 Brandon Thomas-Asante – Coventry City

Coventry City leads the scoring rankings among teams this season by a significant margin, despite a strange year for its strikers.
However, Brandon Thomas-Asante has remained the top player, scoring 10 goals in 17 outings before being injured in November with a hamstring injury.
The Ghanaian has also had a mixed return from the sidelines, having received a three-game retrospective ban for an elbow on Norwich City’s Pelle Mattsson on January 26th.
4Kieffer Moore – Wrexham

Kieffer Moore, an experienced Wrexham striker, sits just outside the top three.
The 33-year-old is a vital cause for the Red Dragons’ fourth successive promotion bid, as he is the only player in Phil Parkinson’s team to achieve double figures so far.
Such a total is also due in large part to a ‘perfect’ hat-trick versus Coventry at the Stok Cae Ras on October 31st.
5 Oli McBurnie – Hull City

Just behind Moore comes Hull City’s Oli McBurnie, who has proven to be one of the season’s best free transfer additions.
Since joining the Tigers, McBurnie has had the most prolific Championship season of his career, scoring over 15 goals despite being sidelined for two months between October and December.
He will be hopeful that his current form will earn him a place in Scotland’s FIFA World Cup squad.
6Rumarn Burrell – Queens Park Rangers

Rumarn Burrell has also proven to be a bargain purchase for Queens Park Rangers, with the Jamaican forward quickly finding form in the Championship.
Despite an inconsistent season generally, the Hoops will undoubtedly rely on the 25-year-old’s goal-scoring ability if they are to finish in the play-off places.
However, it remains to be seen how Julien Stephan’s team would perform without him until March, after sustaining a ‘contact injury’ at the turn of 2026.
7Patrick Bamford – Sheffield United

Despite just being with Sheffield United for less than three months, Patrick Bamford’s impact at Bramall Lane is undeniable.
The two-time promotion winner has been able to put his past misfortunes behind him and make a solid impression under Chris Wilder, following an initially interesting free agency signing from the Blades manager despite previous tension between him and the striker.
However, the 32-year-old will undoubtedly aim for a double-figure score after being awarded a long-term contract last month when his previous short-term agreement expired.
8 Patrick Agyemang – Derby County

Patrick Agyemang made a high-profile ยฃ7.3 million move from Charlotte FC to Derby County in the summer, and he is now demonstrating why his signing was so highly sought following a sluggish start at Pride Park due to injury.
The USMNT has certainly filled the vacuum left by the injured Carlton Morris, who scored 10 goals in the first few weeks of the season, making it a tantalizing potential for Rams fans to see them back in action as a partnership in the near future.
9Marvin Ducksch – Birmingham City

Despite being Birmingham City’s ‘poster boy’, Marvin Ducksch has mostly played in the’main striker’ role under Chris Davies in recent weeks and months.
After taking time to recover from an injury-plagued pre-season, the German found form in late November, scoring three goals in two games before becoming a standout performer for the Blues in the Championship and FA Cup in January 2026, including a smart brace in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Coventry City at St. Andrew’s.
The former German international has also helped him connect and play well with the offensive quality around him.
10Mihailo Ivanovic – Millwall

Mihailo Ivanovic’s form has been hit-and-miss in Millwall’s promotion bid, with the Serbian only recently resuming his goalscoring form.
After the Lions retained his services following a 12-goal campaign last season and summer transfer speculation, it took Ivanovic 10 games to open his account for the season, with all of his subsequent goals coming in bursts.
However, Alex Neil’s side has a good chance of securing a play-off spot if their prized asset can hit the target more consistently.
11Tommy Conway – Middlesbrough

Tommy Conway has frequently divided opinion among Middlesbrough fans, and he will seek to build on his recent strong form to prove the skeptics wrong.
The 23-year-old scored 13 goals last season but has struggled to match that total for the most of this season under Rob Edwards or Kim Hellberg.
However, with Boro making progress in recent weeks, the Scotland international has rekindled his goal-scoring touch, including the winner in a key 2-1 victory over Stoke City on January 21.
12George Hirst – Ipswich Town

Although Ipswich Town’s assault appears to be powerful on paper, the Tractor Boys have struggled at centre-forward this season.
George Hirst, Ivan Azon, and Chuba Akpom have all struggled to maintain consistent form, with the majority of Hirst’s goals coming in the first few weeks of the season.
As a result, the Town support has expressed some anxiety that the club was unable to add another striker to its ranks during the winter transfer window.
13Aune Heggebo – West Bromwich Albion

Despite West Bromwich Albion’s exceedingly bad season under Ryan Mason and new manager Eric Ramsay, Aune Heggebo’s performances have been a rare bright spot for the Baggies.
After taking six games to score his first goal for the club, the hardworking Norwegian forward scored seven goals in a row between November 8th and December 12th, but has subsequently struggled as Albion have slipped down the table.
It is safe to suggest that the club’s survival chances may depend on individual performances from the 24-year-old.
14 Cameron Archer – Southampton

Cameron Archer has also struggled for consistency in a Southampton shirt, and there is no doubt the Saints would have ranked higher if Adam Armstrong had not transferred to Wolves on Deadline Day.
Despite his previous experience at this level on loan with Preston North End and Middlesbrough, Archer has failed to explain why ยฃ15 million was spent on his services in August 2024.
It is also unclear whether he will be Tonda Eckert’s ‘first-choice’ replacement for Armstrong in the starting lineup following the loan signing of Cyle Larin from RCD Mallorca.
15Milutin Osmajic – Preston North End

Milutin Osmajic has been a polarizing character at Preston North End for a variety of reasons.
The Montenegrin had a solid start to the season in front of goal before receiving a nine-match ban for racially assaulting Burnley player Hannibal Mejbri.
Osmajic, who had only scored once since the turn of 2026, made headlines for the wrong reasons again after getting sent off for headbutting Hull City player John Lundstram in a 3-0 loss at Deepdale.
16 Emil Riis – Bristol City

Next up is Bristol City’s Emil Riis, who has struggled to settle in at Ashton Gate following his free transfer from Denmark in the summer.
The 27-year-old, like the most of the Robins squad, has hit form in spurts, but the onus will undoubtedly be on him to make more goal contributions in the coming weeks following Anis Mehmeti’s departure.
17Luca Kjerrumgaard – Watford

Watford’s Luca Kjerrumgaard has also had a disappointing season, despite netting three braces in his first season at Vicarage Road.
After being signed by Paulo Pezzolano, the striker’s best form came during Javi Gracia’s brief return to Hertfordshire, and it remains to be seen whether the 22-year-old can propel the Yellows into the play-offs under a third manager in less than nine months.
18Jordan Ayew – Leicester City

Leicester City’s return to the Championship has been terrible, with its strikers continuing to struggle.
Despite such changes, the seasoned Jordan Ayew has been the finest performer in that regard, though he will undoubtedly be disappointed with how his individual season, as well as that of Leicester as a whole, has turned out, since fears of a points deduction remain.
19Will Lankshear – Oxford United

Oxford United have struggled to score goals this season, but Will Lankshear, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, has shown potential at the Kassam Stadium.
After a frustrating loan spell with West Brom in the second part of last season, the England youth international was among the division’s top scorers in the early stages of this season and will try to regain form to help the U’s survive under Matt Bloomfield.
20. Divin Mubama – Stoke City

Earlier this season, Stoke City’s loan signing of Divin Mubama was particularly shrewd. However, while Mark Robins had been without several first-team players in recent weeks, the England youth international’s form had plummeted before he entered the treatment room.
After scoring five goals in the first half of the season, including a hat-trick against Bristol City on November 1st, the Manchester City loanee sustained a major knee ligament injury against Queens Park Rangers in January 2026 and will be out for some time as a result.
21Yuki Ohashi – Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers’ difficulties have been well documented this season, with Yuki Ohashi’s goals failing to keep the East Lancashire club out of relegation danger.
The East Lancashire club has also relied heavily on the Japanese forward to score goals, which has resulted in them losing multiple games by a small margin as his colleagues have squandered a variety of golden opportunities during the season.
22Colby Bishop – Portsmouth

Colby Bishop’s 16-goal haul was a major factor for Portsmouth’s survival last season. However, neither the striker nor John Mousinho’s team have scored as frequently this season.
However, the Blues will be without the striker, who has only scored once this season, for a short while after suffering a knee injury against West Bromwich Albion on January 31st.
23Charlie Kelman – Charlton Athletic

Charlton Athletic have undoubtedly disclosed their post-promotion ambitions.
However, after a reported ยฃ3.5 million deal from QPR, much more was anticipated of Charlie Kelman, who has failed to translate his previous form on loan at Leyton Orient in League One into the Championship thus far.
In fairness, the same could be said about Isaac Olaofe, who has since returned to Stockport County for the duration of the campaign.
24
Jamal Lowe, Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday’s Jamal Lowe is at the bottom of the list.
The Owls’ struggles for goals and points this season have been well known, and they are on track to be relegated with the division’s lowest-ever points total following an 18-point deduction.
The seasoned striker has also faced an overall difficult stay at Hillsborough, with his total for the club still under 10 strikes.
