Alisha Lehmann and footballer boyfriend Douglas Luiz ‘set for historic double transfer’

Alisha Lehmann and footballer boyfriend Douglas Luiz 'set for historic double transfer'

Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann could both move to Juventus this summer

Douglas Luiz, Alisha Lehmann’s boyfriend, plays for the men’s team at Aston Villa, and the two may soon be doing the double at a different team.

Due to a double transfer, Douglas Luiz, a midfielder for Aston Villa, and his fiancée, Alisha Lehmann, a standout player for Villa ladies, may end up playing for Juventus the next season.

Lehmann, a Switzerland international, joined Villa’s women’s team in 2021 after spending three years with West Ham. Luiz, a Brazilian international, arrived to Villa Park two years prior, and shortly after Lehmann joined the team, the two began dating.

They broke up the following year and got back together in 2024. However, Juve’s interest in Luiz now threatened to push them into a long-distance partnership.

Although they seem to need to sell players to raise the money for the big-money transfer, Juve are rumoured to have an agreement in place to bring the 26-year-old to Turin. Additionally, the former Manchester City player has been pushing for Juventus to include his girlfriend on their women’s team while they wait for the agreement to go through.

Reports from Italy (via Goal) claim that Juventus has “opened the door” to signing both Lehmann and Luiz. The Swiss sensation, who has played in the WSL for more than 100 matches, reached her 50th international cap this year.

The women from Juventus qualified for the Champions League in the next year by finishing second in the league this year. After placing third in Serie A, their players will also be participating in the premier club league in European football next season.

Along with her remarkable on-field accomplishments, Lehmann has solidified her and Luiz’s reputation as an off-field social media power couple. Compared to Luiz’s 1.2 million Instagram followers, she has over 16 million more.

If confirmed, Luiz’s transfer to Juventus may open the door for Liverpool to sign Federico Chiesa, a winger for the club. The winner of Euro 2020 is presently away representing his country in the Euros this summer, and it is not thought that he will be in Turin as part of Thiago Motta’s plans.

Several players are expected to depart the team this summer, including Chiesa. Another is Matias Soule, an Argentinean winger who has drawn interest from a number of clubs, including West Ham United of the Premier League.

Wojciech Szczesny is another talent that is expected to go this summer. Concerns over his long-term future under Motta in Serie A have led Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, to seek the former Arsenal keeper.
