Alexander Isak’s agent has already spoken about transfer as Anfield rumour sends Liverpool fans into meltdown

Before Alexander Isak’s alleged trip to Anfield, his agency made a statement regarding his possible departure from Newcastle United.

Liverpool played back-to-back home games against Athletic Club of Spain on Monday in their last preseason friendlies.

During the two games, a number of the team’s best players and recent additions played, and the home team won both times.

The player’s efforts leading up to this weekend’s FA Community Shield final versus FA Cup winners Crystal Palace were the main focus, but some fans were ecstatic to learn that top target Isak’s agent was present.

Following the announcement, remarks made by the agent of the Newcastle United player regarding his client’s significant summer transfer have reappeared online.

The rumours that Isak’s agent Gonzalo Gaitan will be present for the friendly games against Athletic Club are yet unsubstantiated, but they coincide with a number of other rumours suggesting the striker’s transfer to Liverpool is imminent.

His arrival is seen by both Liverpool and Isak as a dream move that would result in Newcaslte earning a British record fee of at least £130 million.

The Sweden international went so far as to withdraw from Newcastle’s preseason tour in Asia this summer, expressing his desire for the transfer.

However, given Gaitan’s remarks from earlier in the summer, it is not surprising that Isak is so keen to finalise a transfer to the Premier League winners as quickly as possible.

A number of teams from across the world, including Arsenal and others in the Saudi Pro League, expressed interest in signing Isak until Liverpool emerged as the front-runner.

“We are in fact studying and analysing all options, and we may be close to finalising the next step for the player,” Gaitan told the Saudi Arabian publication Arriyadiyah while discussing Isak’s future.

“Without revealing any details regarding whether Isak will transfer or stay with Newcastle.”

However, Newcastle must find a replacement for their great player before Liverpool can finalise a deal for Isak, and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig is their top choice.

The Magpies made an updated approach on Monday, estimated to be worth £69.7 million (€80 million), plus add-ons, for the Slovenian striker after their initial offer was turned down.
