On Monday, representatives from Newcastle met with Isak at his home.
We are only a few days away from the window closing, and Alexander Isak has expressed his desire to move to Liverpool after meeting with Newcastle representatives at his home.
Isak discussed his future at St James’ Park with a Public Investment Fund delegation, including Newcastle co-owner Jamie Reuben, ahead of Monday’s game against Liverpool.
Earlier this month, the Magpies turned down a formal £110 million bid from reigning Premier League champions Liverpool for the desired striker, which is alleged to have irritated Isak.
In truth, the 25-year-old issued a statement saying Newcastle had broken agreements to him, amid speculation of a British-record move to Anfield.
“Promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time,” he informed me. “It is disingenuous to act as if these difficulties are just emerging. “When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue.”

Newcastle said last week that they were “disappointed” with Isak after hearing his statement.
“We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer,” the sources stated.
“We want to keep our greatest players, but we also recognize that players have their own preferences and listen to their feedback.
“As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired.”
The statement said, “We do not anticipate those requirements being met. This is a strong football club with proud history, and we endeavor to maintain our family atmosphere. Alex remains a member of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.”
