After Manchester United lost 1-0 to Premier League rivals Tottenham in the Europa League final on Wednesday night, they were eliminated from the Champions League, and Alejandro Garnacho’s brother’s Instagram picture has gone viral. As a result, for the first time since 2014, Ruben Amorim’s team will not play in any European competition next season.
The game-winning goal came via Luke Shaw’s own goal in the first half. No United player was able to figure out the secret to Spurs’ obstinate setup, even though United dominated much of the second half in a relentless attack-vs-defense scenario, pinning Ange Postecoglou’s team deep into their own third.
Amorim’s hesitation to make replacements early in the game was one of his worst errors at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao. Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee were the first to enter the game in the 71st minute after five players had been left to warm up for more than 20 minutes. The choice has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by Garnacho’s brother’s disparaging remarks on social media, which has increased the impact following the game.
Garnacho’s Brother’s Post Throws Shade On Ruben Amorim
His agent clearly wasn’t happy with his bit-part role on Wednesday night

The 20-year-old Garnacho only needed a minute after coming off the bench to startle the Tottenham defence. More than some of his teammates, including Rasmus Hojlund, accomplished throughout the evening, the young Argentinean assessed Pedro Porro before cutting inside and getting a shot off.
However, neither he nor his brother, who serves as his agent, were pleased that he had only been granted 19 minutes of ordinary time to establish his authority over the proceedings. Roberto posted on Instagram full-time, as you can see in the post below:
“Working tirelessly, contributing at every turn, and coming off two goals in the previous two finals, only to be on the pitch for 19 minutes and be dismissed.” Whoa, that’s hilarious.
The phrase “thrown under the bus” perhaps alludes to Amorim’s post-match interview, in which he says, “It’s easy to say that now,” in response to a question regarding whether he should have started Garnacho over Mason Mount. In the first half of the semi-final, who wasted the crucial opportunity? Garnacho. That’s how football is. View below:
Garnacho Addresses Amorim’s Decision Not To Start Him
The transfer rumour mill has been spun again by the 20-year-old

In an interview with a Spanish-speaking publication, Garnacho, who has directly contributed to 21 goals in 58 games this season across all competitions, also expressed his unwillingness to overlook Amorim’s lack of confidence in starting him. As you can see from his interview below:
“We really didn’t beat anyone in the league; the season was awful.” I participated in every round and supported the squad till I got to the final. I also played 20 minutes today. I’m not sure. We’ll see after I enjoy the summer.
His remarks allude to a potential summer transfer for the 20-year-old, one that might see him flourish away from Old Trafford and follow the pattern set by players like Scott McTominay, Antony, and Marcus Rashford. Matheus Cunha is anticipated to replace him.
