When former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho returned to Old Trafford with Chelsea, fans chanted at him mercilessly.
Ruben Amorim’s side defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford, perhaps sealing a decisive victory.
The Blues’ game was thrown into disarray after only five minutes when custodian Robert Sanchez was sent off for a violent tackle on Bryan Mbeumo. Man United took advantage of the dismissal, with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.
Casemiro was eventually sent out before halftime after receiving two yellow cards, giving Chelsea a possible way back into the game. Trevoh Chalobah halved the deficit, but his goal came too late as the Blues lost.
Enzo Maresca made two substitutes after his custodian was sent off, and he made another just minutes later when he took Cole Palmer, who had been suffering from a groin problem, off the pitch.
Despite this, Alejandro Garnacho, who joined the Blues from Manchester United in the last weeks of the transfer window, received no playing time. When Garnacho returned to Old Trafford, he was met with an especially ferocious chant by the Manchester United fans.
‘He Won’t Be Winning Trophies Anymore’

During the first half, Red Devils fans burst out in a rendition of a chant that had not been sung in almost a decade.
“Who is that t*** from Argentina? Who is the money-grabbing w****? Garnacho is his name, and he doesn’t have a brain, so he won’t win any more prizes!”
The song was originally made in honour of Carlos Tevez, who left the club in 2009 to join archrival Manchester City. Following the move, Manchester United fans created the chant to attack their former forward.
Now, it appears that Manchester United fans have decided to rebrand that song for Garnacho, the Argentina international who spent time at the club’s youth academy before making his senior football debut and eventually leaving Old Trafford.
Amorim appeared to be cool with, possibly even pressing for, Garnacho’s departure, but this has clearly done little to influence fan view of the 21-year-old.
