Alejandro Garnacho involved in sensational ‘swap’ deal with Premier League club that would solve major Man Utd problem

This summer, Alejandro Garnacho and a Premier League player may part ways.

Manchester United are considering using Alejandro Garnacho as a makeweight to recruit a Premier League player.

Garnacho has been the subject of significant transfer speculation this summer, having recently outraged Manchester United fans by donning a rival’s shirt.

His future appears to be away from Old Trafford, with numerous teams monitoring his situation, including Chelsea.

Garnacho is reported to be on Enzo Maresca’s radar as Chelsea seeks new talent for the 2025/26 season.

The Blues are also likely to cut their team, with many players set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

One of them is Christopher Nkunku, who is thought to be desired by the Red Devils.

Both teams could sign their respective targets this summer.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea and Manchester United are ‘weighing up the idea’ of sending Garnacho and Nkunku in opposing directions this summer.

Garnacho and Nkunku both want to leave their respective clubs, and the possibility of them switching places has not been ruled out, according to the source.

However, there is no expectation of a swap agreement being reached.

Separate moves involving Garnacho and Nkunku going in opposite directions would alleviate problems for both Manchester United and Chelsea, but the clubs have yet to hold direct conversations about the situation.

Chelsea are trying to recruit a left winger, with the 20-year-old joining Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and Lyon’s Malik Fofana on a shortlist of three players.

Man United are looking for another forward after signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves, and the 27-year-old fits the bill.

Garnacho joined Manchester United’s renowned youth academy after signing from Atletico Madrid.

He progressed through the club’s youth system before breaking into the first team.

Last season, the Argentine had 11 goals in 58 games across all competitions.

Nkunku, on the other hand, signed with Chelsea for £52 million in the summer of 2023 after impressing at RB Leipzig.

But he has had a terrible time with Chelsea, scoring only six league goals in two seasons.
