Alan Shearer Predicts Entire 2025-26 Premier League Table From 1st to 20th

The 2025–2026 Premier League season is quickly approaching, and many people have already started predicting how it will go. The division’s best scorers have been forecasted by AI, and commentators nationwide are sharing their predictions for the league table when May arrives.

Alan Shearer is the most recent to do so. Since hanging up his boots in 2006, the former Newcastle United striker has been employed as a television pundit and commentator. Although he has done a lot of work outside of Match of the Day, the show is his most well-known contribution. The Englishman recently shared his whole Premier League table prediction in a column with Bet Fair, including his predictions for each team’s finish this season.

There are some audacious calls.

20-16

Shearer has predicted that the three teams that were promoted from the Championship last time around will all instantly return to the second division at the first opportunity, which is probably not surprising to anyone. Because he thinks Burnley’s outstanding defensive play from the previous season won’t transition to the big time, he has them ranked dead last in the standings. He has Sunderland, Newcastle’s main rivals, dropping to 19th place, obviously dissatisfied with their summer transfer window performance, and Leeds United dropping back to 18th place.

The former forward believes the Bees will suffer a severe hit from Thomas Frank’s exit to Brentford, finishing barely outside the drop zone in 17th place. He also has West Ham United in 16th place.

The former Premier League champion believes Fulham will regress under Marco Silva this season and projects them to end in 15th place, with Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers finishing higher in 14th and 13th place, respectively. Shearer anticipates that Crystal Palace will replicate their 12th-place performance from the previous season in 2025–2026.

Last year was Bournemouth’s best Premier League season ever, although they lost a number of important players as a result. Shearer believes the Cherries will finish in 11th place because he doesn’t think the departure of players like Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez would hurt them too much.

Shearer has projected Brighton to finish 10th and barely make it into the top 10, moving them into the top half of the league. Then, compared to the 2024–2025 season, he sees Nottingham Forest regressing. With a seventh-place finish last season, the Midlands club qualified for European football. The Englishman now anticipates that they will finish eighth in the standings.

He believes Tottenham Hotspur’s situation will improve under Thomas Frank. Compared to their previous 17th-place result, he has the north London team finishing seventh this season. Shearer then predicts Manchester United to finish sixth and Aston Villa to finish seventh. With players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo joining Old Trafford this summer, it’s obvious that he appreciates what Ruben Amorim has been doing in the transfer market.

Shearer, who is now among the elite, has forecast that his beloved Newcastle United will qualify for the Champions League and barely place in the top five. He still has faith in Eddie Howe and the team to finish the job, even though the Magpies are going through a hectic summer of recruitment. He has predicted Chelsea to finish fourth, repeating their success from the previous campaign under Enzo Maresca.

The former Blackburn Rovers talisman believes Pep Guardiola’s team will finish third again despite some strong additions earlier in the summer. He doesn’t think Manchester City will overcome their problems from the previous campaign. Additionally, he believes that this year’s title competition will not be any different, with Liverpool winning the trophy once more and Arsenal finishing as runners-up for the fourth consecutive season.
