After watching his performance against us yesterday, I have come to the conclusion that he is my number one main target for the summer transfer. I have assisted Arteta with my key players in the past, and it is now time for Arteta to reciprocate that gesture. Pep Guardiola has officially requested that ONE Arsenal wonderkid be transferred to another club.

After Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Manchester City, Mikel Arteta was in a great mood for his post-match press conference. The victory came after Arsenal’s impressive performance. His elation at his team’s performance was evident from his mood throughout the entire meeting, despite the fact that there were some serious issues that were discussed.

He went into detail about the factors that led to the victory, including the fortunate timing of the goals and the implications it has for the team. Furthermore, he was questioned by football.london about the anticipation for the day of the transfer deadline. He was also confronted with some challenging questions concerning the celebrations of his players in relation to Erling Haaland, which offered a glimpse into his perspective on his own expectations.

Mikel, it is extremely uncommon for you to receive games like this, especially after games like this. That person who was watching from the sidelines, how much did you enjoy watching them?

It’s a great day for us, for the result, for the manner that we’ve done it, and especially against the level of their position that we played today. When I watch the game, it’s okay, maybe a little bit more than usual at the end, but overall, it’s a great day for us.

Furthermore, I would like to compliment you on your clinical approach, as I believe you have been subjected to a lot of criticism for not being clinical enough, but today you took some risks.

It is true that in order to defeat them in the manner that we have, a great deal of things need to go in your favour. You know, we played with a lot of courage, we went without the ball, and our high press, with the limits, are really, really thin. We were very aggressive, and we played with a lot of courage. We were able to score a goal, but we should have scored three more. Clearly, and after the one, even if you wanted, they are that good, but sometimes you just have to stay deep, and defend deep, and suffer, and enjoy those moments as well. We had a little bit of luck in certain situations, and then we had the opportunity, and I believe that we were exceptional in our intentions, our aggression with the ball, how we wanted to hurt them, and the way that we finished the actions.

Can you tell me where you stand in terms of your accomplishments, given that you were able to win against a team like Manchester City?

Take it easy and enjoy the day, I don’t know. The fact that a lot of things need to go your way in order to win in that manner is something that we will still understand, and I believe that it is something that we will learn from as well. Once more, one of the most important things is to generate the incredible energy that we generated in the stadium. I mean, we cannot afford to waste even a single minute without playing with that, because I believe that it infects the team, transforms the team, and makes it extremely challenging for the players who are competing against us. And then for the players to believe that we are capable of competing against anyone in our day? When we play at that level, both individually and collectively, we compete at that level, and I believe that it is going to be very helpful for the future.

When Gabriel scored the first goal, he celebrated in Haaland’s face. When Myles scored, he celebrated by doing the same thing that Haaland did. Is it your opinion that the game that took place in September had a significant impact on this and your team?

When it comes to the players, I have no idea, I haven’t seen that, and there is nothing that I want to talk about regarding that. However, they are aware of my perspective on the matter, and we need to concentrate on ourselves.

Are you of the opinion that there is a change in the psychological makeup of the team, that they have the perception that they are capable of accomplishing a great deal more now, and that this perception brings them forward?

In any sport at this level, I believe that your emotional state is extremely important. It is how you feel about yourself, how you feel about the team, how confident you are, how much you trust your abilities, and how you are looking at your position. This took a number of years as well, and a lot of good decisions, but at the end of the day, it is up to the player. When they play with that tenacity, it is because they believe that they can win, and they can face to face the opposition, and that is the best thing. After the outcome, you can win or lose, because both teams are really good. However, what I like about the attitude is that they have.

Did you tell them to go for it a little bit more at halftime, because the first half was a bit more reserved than the second half?

Yeah, but I think you want it, and we had great moments in the first half, you really want it, they are that good that they can’t, in the second half, they wanted certain things, and we didn’t allow them to do it as well, and you have to navigate, there are a lot of micro-games within the game, when you play this kind of opposition, and you have to be happy to be in each phase of that game, if not, you don’t win anything.

More than two years ago, Myles Lewis-Skelly scored a goal in the FA Youth Cup against Manchester City, which ultimately led to the victory of the game. Since then, he has experienced a significant rise in popularity; what were your feelings like when that ball from him hit the back of the net?

I was caught off guard by them! I was talking about that with one of our staff members today, and we were discussing the fact that he needs to be more dangerous in the final third when he is in this position. Ricci did it the other day against Wolves, and our full-backs are now generating these kinds of changes. The same is true with Jurrien; he adds threat, and he adds a different problem to the opposition, which is great.

Considering that it is reasonable to say that the fans received a significant boost as a result of that, I believe that they would receive an even greater boost if tomorrow was also a good day. Are you hoping that tomorrow will be a really good day?

I don’t know, my phone has been turned off with the transfer window, and it is forbidden to call me or text me about any of that. My primary concern was that that is the best preparation we can have for Wednesday, and that was the only thing that I was interested in.

Another one about Myles: you mentioned tenacity, and it seemed as though he, at the age of 18, was almost setting the tone for that. Would you be able to speak a little bit about his character as well as his performance?

He is responsible for that, you know, because he has been in the academy, he has it within him, he feels it, and he is very good at expressing it as well, which is something that some players struggle with trying to do. He does it in every action, he does it with his body language, he does it with his facial expression, he does it with how he lives the game, and then he does it with the ball, because he takes it and he wants to make things happen, he takes risks, and he takes initiative, which is not easy to see at his age.

The fact that so many talented young players have come through is like a dream come true. You have Bukayo, and when you arrived there, you had Ethan, Myles, and everything else.

Absolutely wonderful. There is a great deal of work that needs to be done in the academy, and there are a great number of people who have contributed to that. It is my hope that they are really proud of themselves because a significant portion of their success is due to the fact that a great number of people have been involved in that process.

I would like to come back to the question about the players and mimic Haaland’s response. You mentioned in your response that the players are aware of your perspective on the matter; what is your perspective?

The only thing that matters is that we concentrate on ourselves and let everything else go. Whatever happens on the pitch is a part of the game, and we’ve been playing football for a very long time. Just let it go; there’s nothing else to do there.

We have seen you use comments from opponents in the past in your team talks in the Amazon documentary; however, you did not do that with what Haaland said in the past, is that correct?

No.

What are your thoughts on Raya’s performance? It is obvious that he made two excellent saves; how important were those saves and the crucial moments that occurred during the game?

A lot of things have to go your way, and in those moments you have to be very efficient, you need a little bit of luck, and you need an individual action. We had all of those things today, which is why the result reflects that distance, because a lot of things go our way today. And that is when we talk.

And throughout this season, you have provided a significant number of opportunities to both Ethan and Myles. What is it about them that led you to initially put your faith in them, and it is clear that they have gone on to pay dividends; what was the impetus for that?

Because I believe in them and because we believe in them, when I put them next to the boys, they have the impression that they are just as good or even better with them, and this is something that is extremely, extremely important. The fact that they play with a great deal of intention and that they play with the intention of making a contribution and bringing about change is something that I admire about both of them.

The third goal, according to Pep, was the one that really put an end to their chances of winning the game; however, if Thomas Partey hadn’t scored that second goal so quickly after they had come back, the outcome of the game could have been very different.

We reacted so quickly, had a little bit of luck in that action, and that set the tone for the team in the stadium as well, to go and win the game. Yeah, that’s another thing that went our way because, emotionally, I believe that was a turning point. We reacted so quickly. And then after that, I believe that the team reached a new level of confidence, they began to control the game much better, and they began to dominate certain areas much better, and from that point on, we were able to win the game.
