After listening to what Declan Rice had to say during his post-match interview following Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, a number of Manchester United supporters have become hostile towards the player.
Despite the fact that Arsenal finished their match at Old Trafford with just one point, they are currently 15 points behind Liverpool, who are the leaders of the Premier League. Mikel Arteta refused to answer a question about the gap behind Liverpool.
A stunning free kick was converted by Bruno Fernandes, who opened the scoring. The distance of Arsenal’s wall was the primary talking point from his strike, which was the first goal of the game.
In the 74th minute, Rice scored a game-winning goal by sweeping home a clean finish. This brought the score tie.
Rice gave an interview to Sky Sports after the game and discussed his thoughts on the outcome of the match.
He expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of ‘cutting edge’ in the first half and referred to his team as ‘naive’ for coming so close to allowing Manchester United to score a late winner.
“In the first half, I believe that we had some beautiful pieces of play; however, we just did not have that clinical cutting edge during that time. Over the course of the second half, we did things that we have not done throughout the entire season. We were extremely naive in the final ten minutes, and we could have easily given the game to Manchester United,” he explained.
“It was a bit of stupidity from us, but to get back in the game and to keep pushing, we had another chance with Martinelli & it was a real end-to-end game – it was probably a fair point in the end.”
As he made reference to Arsenal’s 7-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, the Gunners midfielder also brought attention to the low block that Man United had.
“We scored seven in midweek and that wasn’t any luck, PSV had not lost at home for two and a half years, we were full throttle,” according to the coach. Today, we attempted to do the same thing with the same intention and threat, but Man United, to their credit, sat in a low block and defended as well as they could.
There are times when it takes a full ninety minutes to successfully break down that low block. Despite the fact that we had a couple of opportunities to score, we were only able to score one goal. Our lack of creativity prevented us from successfully crossing the finish line.
On social media, some Arsenal supporters criticised Rice’s interview, while others defended his post-match comments. This was in spite of the fact that Rice provided some fascinating insights.
An individual who uses the X platform wrote, “Rice is once again releasing nonsense in his interview.” Mr., we were extremely fortunate to avoid losing that game. Because of this, Declan has lost my support as a fan. There is a great strike, but it is a true teacher’s pet.
Rice is a nice guy, and nice guys always come in last, according to a second’s assertion. If we want to win titles, we need to have complete c**ts in the middle of the pitch.
An additional third, on the other hand, argued that the interview was “really refreshing from Rice, you can see the frustration.” I don’t think we’re doing him justice.
His post-match interview was praised by another individual, who stated, “I would love to see Declan Rice as the captain of Arsenal one day.” The right kind of leader.”
Roy Keane, who was not impressed by Arsenal’s performance against Manchester United, brought up Rice’s interview when he was evaluating Arsenal’s terrible mentality and questioning their strategy. Keane was not impressed by Arsenal’s performance.
“Liverpool won’t be thinking ‘this team are going to put us under pressure’… Liverpool will be looking at them going ‘I think Arsenal have almost given up the title chase… the winner mentality has ended’,” he said enthusiastically.
“It was exactly like that while I was watching! For a moment, I was thinking, “Come on, Arsenal, where is it?” I was under the impression that there would be a mindset that ‘we’ll still get the job done and find a way to win’ despite the fact that there were all the problems associated with a striker.
“If anything it was the opposite… if anything United found a way and at the end we were sat there thinking United are going to win this and they probably should have at the end.”
