According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, Southampton sporting director Johannes Spors is hunting for suitable replacements for Will Still in Germany.
The 43-year-old businessman is in charge of Southampton’s search for a new manager and is thought to be looking at prospects from his home country for the next job at St Mary’s.
Southampton are ‘not in a haste’ to make an appointment following Still’s dismissal on Sunday, with Ralph Hasenhuttl and Russell Martin’s returns ruled out.
Tonda Eckert, the Under-21 head coach, has taken over managerial duties on an interim basis, and GIVEMESPORT insiders believe the 32-year-old is a strong contender for the permanent position.
Southampton looking into German options for their next manager.

Thomas, writing on X, stated that Southampton ‘want to take their time’ to find the perfect manager following Still’s brief tenure at St Mary’s, with the club turning to Germany for suitable options.
Southampton severed ways with Still on Sunday, with a 2-0 loss to Preston North End marking the 33-year-old’s final game in command.
During Still’s tenure, the south coast club won only two of their 13 Championship games, and they are now 21st in the table, three points above the bottom three.
Still was hired as Southampton manager in May on a three-year contract, but he lasted only five months, and members of his backroom staff, Ruben Martinez, Clement Lemaitre, and Carl Martin, all left.
As GIVEMESPORT has reported, numerous Southampton players and staff would welcome Martin as Still’s replacement, less than a year after the 39-year-old was removed of his duties at the club.
Southampton are also fans of Coventry City manager Frank Lampard, although the 47-year-old’s departure midseason is doubtful, with the Sky Blues four points ahead at the top of the Championship table.
Southampton appreciates Stoke City manager Mark Robins, who has had a fantastic start to the season with the Potters, who are currently second in the Championship.
Southampton’s next two games before the November international break are against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday and Sheffield Wednesday at St Mary’s on Saturday.
