According to an official club statement, AC Milan fired manager Sergio Conceicao after a lackluster Serie A season.
In late December, with the team in seventh place, the Portuguese strategist succeeded fellow countryman Paulo Fonseca. However, Milan’s league standing remained stable under Conceicao following a turbulent six months.
In a 12-month period, the former Porto manager is the third manager to depart from the Italian powerhouses.

The Club would like to express its gratitude to Sergio and his team for their professionalism, devotion, and commitment throughout the last few months as the First Team’s leaders.
“With best wishes for the future, the AC Milan family bids farewell to the coach who won the 50th trophy in the club’s history.”
England players Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori may follow their manager out of Milan when Conceicao departs.
Tottenham is reportedly interested in Tomori because of his speed, agility, and perseverance, according to a Mail Sport article this week.
The center defender is thought to be a less expensive option than their main target, Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace.
Italian publications, meanwhile, claim that Loftus-Cheek’s future at Milan has been uncertain since last summer.
With a contract that expired in June 2027, the former Chelsea midfield moved to Milan from London in 2023.
Additionally, Conceicao’s departure won’t help Kyle Walker’s chances of staying at Milan past this season.

Despite having a £4.2 million buyout option in his contract, the defender joined the team on loan from Manchester City in January, and according to several reports, Milan does not want to sign him long-term.
The 35-year-old made 16 appearances for the team across all competitions and was part of Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad for the Three Lions’ World Cup qualifying in March.
Tammy Abraham, another loanee, is also anticipated to end his tenure with the Rossoneri this summer.
According to Italian reports, the former Chelsea player, who has only scored five goals for Milan in as many months, is anticipated to return to parent club Roma.
