After leaving Sheffield United during the summer transfer window, Kieffer Moore has had a promising start to his career with Wrexham.
Don Goodman, a Sky Sports analyst and co-commentator, has charged that Sheffield United did not capitalize on former striker Kieffer Moore’s abilities during the previous campaign.
In an attempt to secure an immediate return to the top tier after being relegated from the Premier League in 2023–2024, United bolstered their attack line by adding Tyrese Campbell and Moore in the summer and Tom Cannon and Ben Brereton Díaz in January.
Moore signed a three-year contract at Bramall Lane after moving from Bournemouth for an unknown sum. He scored seven goals in 18 games during his loan stint at Ipswich Town in the second half of the 2023–24 season, which helped propel them to promotion.
Moore struggled to establish himself in S2, scoring only six goals in 30 games, despite having a strong Championship record on his resume. As a result, United was happy to cash in on him little over a year after he signed a three-year contract, selling him to Wrexham in August.
With nine goals in 17 league and cup appearances so far this season, including a recent hat-trick against table-toppers Coventry City, the Wales international has had a promising start at the Championship newcomers.

Goodman doubts whether United is truly grateful. Moore
The former West Bromwich Albion striker, who is admired by EFL analyst Goodman, has questioned whether United truly valued their relationship with the Welshman.
As with big, towering, strong strikers like that, the Kieffer Moore controversy never goes away, Goodman stated in an interview with Football League World. He always manages to be successful, even if they seem to be going out of style.
“I believe that the issue at Sheffield United was that the supporters didn’t really like him. I don’t know if Sheffield United capitalized on his strengths or if they recognized what they truly had.
“Wrexham is undoubtedly doing it, which explains the assists, annoyance value, and goals returned. His physical bulk must make him a nightmare to try to defend against, and he is a handful.
“Wrexham recognise that, they play very much to his strengths and they’re reaping the benefits of that.”
