Cauley Woodrow has scored his second goal in the Premier League, a decade after scoring his first.
The Luton Town player scored a goal with his head in the 96th minute to tie the game against Crystal Palace and secure an important point for his team, the Hatters. This goal has the potential to be crucial, given that Rob Edwards’ team is currently engaged in a heated battle to avoid relegation.
Although the Town fans were happy to end the match at Selhurst Park with a 1-1 draw, Woodrow will derive personal gratification from scoring a goal. Indeed, it has been a considerable duration since his previous goal at the highest tier of English football.
Woodrow has not scored in the Premier League for 3,590 days. His most recent goal was also scored against Crystal Palace during the 2013-14 season, when he was a promising young player at Fulham.
Woodrow netted a goal in a 2-2 tie at home against the Eagles. For the 19-year-old at that time, it was a day that had mixed emotions, as Fulham entered the match already having been relegated.
In the present day, Woodrow entered as a seasoned 29-year-old who is about to become a father. “My spouse is expecting a child and the expected delivery date is May 7th,” Woodrow informed the Luton Town club website.
“She instructed me to place the ball under my shirt the next time I score.” I successfully scored a goal against Everton, but unfortunately, I forgot about it, resulting in receiving criticism and reprimand from others.
