A new Sheffield Wednesday takeover development has been released ahead of the December 5th deadline.

Sheffield Wednesday are expecting two more ‘serious’ proposals for the club, with administrators hoping to reveal a preferred bidder by December 5th.

The Owls have had a turbulent few months, with owner Dejphon Chansiri quitting as the club went into administration last month.

That resulted in a 12-point deduction, officially condemning Wednesday to relegation, but in the big picture, fans are enthusiastic about what the future holds now that Chansiri has finally left.

Sheffield Wednesday takeover latest news as formal proposals are made for the club.

Now, all eyes are on who will acquire the Championship strugglers, and a number of names have been associated with the club in recent weeks.

Of course, the administrators will be seeking for the appropriate guy to lead the club forward, and Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett revealed that three ‘serious’ proposals have been received.

Interestingly, he also claims that ‘two more’ genuine offers will be made in the ‘coming days’.

Following that, the administrators will select a preferred bidder, which is expected to be done by December 5th, according to prior reports.

Before the takeover can be confirmed, the prospective bidder must first pass the EFL tests.

Sheffield Wednesday will be counting down the days before the new owner comes.

Normally, administration is one of the worst days for a football club, but there was some relief in Hillsborough since it meant they could finally move on from Chansiri.

There was always going to be a lot of interest in the club, and while some of those interested may be shady people, there will be others who want to see Wednesday succeed.

The idea that five legitimate offers will be on the table is quite positive for everyone involved with the Owls, and the next step is to wait and see how things progress.

As previously said, December 5th is a key day since it will be used to name a preferred bidder, which is the next step in the Championship club’s process.

So, there are still obstacles to overcome, but Wednesday can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, and while they will almost probably play League One football next season, there will be a lot of anticipation and enthusiasm when the Yorkshire club is taken over.

Meanwhile, Henrik Pedersen and his team will aim to gain results, despite their humiliating 3-0 derby defeat to Sheffield United last time around.
