Ange Postecoglou confirms double Tottenham boost for Arsenal clash after Gunners blow

Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke are both potentially eligible to participate in Sunday’s North London derby, according to Ange Postecoglou.

In the lead-up to Arsenal’s match this weekend, there were concerns regarding the Tottenham tandem. However, Postecoglou has now confirmed that both players may be involved.

Postecoglou informed the club’s official website prior to the match, “Micky is in good health. He has been training continuously throughout the international break, and it was beneficial for him to remain with us to rehabilitate himself so that he is prepared to compete.”

“Dom’s performance has also improved, and he has trained for the latter half of this week.” We still have two days remaining with those individuals, so we are optimistic that they will complete their training without incident and be available.

Despite the positive developments for Solanke and Van de Ven, Spurs will be without Yves Bissouma following Postecoglou’s disclosure that the former Brighton player had contracted an illness during the international break.

“He has a minor issue, but we will evaluate him over the next few days to determine how it resolves,” he stated of the midfielder.

Tottenham will play against an Arsenal team that is also missing crucial personnel. Martin Odegaard, the Gunners’ captain, is a significant doubt due to an ankle injury sustained during international duty, and Declan Rice is suspended after being sent off against Brighton.

Tottenham’s credentials will be put to the test this season as the Gunners are anticipated to challenge for the Premier League title once more, following their narrow loss to Manchester City on the final day of the previous season. This is despite the absence of Rice.

During his press conference prior to Sunday’s match, Postecoglou made it clear that he was not taking anything for granted. However, he did acknowledge that the game presented a significant opportunity for Spurs, who are seeking to capitalise on their own success.

Upon being questioned as to why Arsenal would continue to be a challenging opponent, Postecoglou responded, “Mentality and approach.” Over the past two years, they have exhibited an unusual level of determination. They are self-assured that they can overcome obstacles throughout the season. They will be a challenging opponent to overcome; however, it presents an excellent opportunity for us”
