Breaking News: Man Utd address rumours Casemiro left stadium at half-time of Liverpool defeat

Casemiro, a midfielder for Manchester United, was benched after halftime following an appalling performance against Liverpool.

Casemiro was substituted off against Liverpool at halftime after a horrifying performance in the first forty-five minutes of play, but Manchester United has refuted reports that he departed Old Trafford at that time.

After failing to obtain a summer transfer to Saudi Arabia, the Brazil international was named in Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup for the third time this season.

However, he gave up the ball for Liverpool’s first two goals, while Mohamed Salah added a third goal in the second half to complete the 3-0 triumph after Luis Diaz scored a brace in the first half.

Casemiro had a rough day after a poor performance against Crystal Palace at the close of the previous season. The Daily Mail claimed to have seen the midfielder “leaving” in a video that they posted to X.

However, United acknowledged to the Manchester Evening News that Casemiro was in the locker room at full time and departed the stadium not long after.

Ten Hag, the Red Devils’ manager, denied the rumours, telling talkSPORT that they were untrue. He was within the changing area. I recently got to know him.

When Ten Hag met with Sky Sports, he was also questioned over Casemiro’s halftime withdrawal. The Dutchman went on to say, “It’s what the team needed.” You have to take more chances and play more openly when you are behind Liverpool 2-0. You have to take greater chances while you’re losing. I must express my gratitude to the crew. You must persevere in battling and being unified.”

Ten Hag said, “You know the game and he knows the game,” in response to a question about the player’s reaction. Both he and we shall continue. He is a superb athlete. This season, we’ll keep working to develop the players and the team.”

In response to a question concerning the 32-year-old’s ability to perform at the greatest level, the manager said, “He improved and has shown that he is a great character on numerous occasions.” He has shown us all terrific moments and decisiveness in the midfield. He’ll demonstrate that once more and recover.

During the second half, a large number of United supporters departed the stadium in protest over Ten Hag’s late substitution of Alejandro Garnacho.

Former right-back Gary Neville said, “When the stadium has 20,000 fans left in it, basically it is as bad as it can be,” in reference to the Red Devils’ miserable day.

“Since Casemiro is a leader, his absence will have a significant effect on the locker room. Extremely difficult era for Manchester United for a decade. Not only Erik ten Hag, but all managers have faced difficulties.
