EFL analyst Sam Parkin has supported John Eustace to take Derby County through their current crisis and believes they will be disappointed not to have received a higher return at Sheffield United.
Derby were held to a 1-1 draw by United at Bramall Lane, where they had grabbed the lead through Bobby Clark before Dion Sanderson’s red card in the second half changed the direction of the game.
Patrick Bamford’s equaliser meant the Blades earned a point, but they were denied all three thanks to two brilliant stops from Jacob Widell Zetterstrom in stoppage time.
The draw kept Derby in the Championship’s bottom three, with only one win this season, but Parkin believes Eustace will lift them.
Derby County’s transfer position vindicated after’silly’ bid, as trio respond to Sheffield United SOS.
Dion Sanderson responds to Derby County red card as he fears a ban.”They’ll be bitterly disappointed with only a point. However, it looked like (goalkeeper Jacob Widell) Zetterstrom performed absolute heroics to maintain the point there at Bramall Lane,”
he told the BBC.Both clubs had inconsistent beginnings to the season, making this a crucial game.Derby has struggled with injuries. Obviously, there was hope for a takeover in the summer, but it has not materialised. The club’s team may not be strong in all departments, but they want to exploit this as a benefit in the upcoming weeks.I’m confident that John Eustace can turn it around.
