Stefan Borson, a football financial expert, believes Amanda Staveley can yet become a part of West Ham’s ownership.
The former Newcastle United minority stakeholder has formed a consortium to bid for control of the London Stadium during the summer.
The 53-year-old left the Magpies in July 2024, and she has since been linked with a return to football ownership, first with Tottenham Hotspur and now the Hammers.
It was reported earlier this year that Staveley had reached an agreement with Vanessa Gold to buy the Gold family’s 25.1% ownership in the Championship side.
However, current shareholder Daniel Kretinsky has used his pre-emption powers to reach an agreement ahead of her, making him the majority shareholder.
This will increase the Czech businessman’s interest in the club to roughly 46%, with David Sullivan remaining a part of the ownership, despite an ongoing enquiry by the Independent Football Regulator (IFR) into his actions.
Amanda Staveley’s door at West Ham remains open.

Borson claims that if Sullivan’s shares come into play, Staveley may still be able to join West Ham because she has already established the infrastructure to do so.
And, while he believes Kretinsky would most certainly acquire complete control of the club, he has hinted that the 51-year-old may look for a partner to join him, perhaps opening the door for Staveley.
“If you look at the scenario that we have with Sullivan, he’s still under investigation by the police, but also the IFR is seeking further information,” Borson told Talksport.
“And they may conclude that he is not fit to continue as a director or a big shareholder in the club.
“If that were to happen, those shares would be in play.
“You’d think that the work Amanda Staveley and her partners have done would qualify them to bid for those shares.
“But I believe we are on the route to Kretinsky becoming the final owner here, whether now or in the future.
“So I think there’s a chance that, instead of if, for example Kretinsky doesn’t want to spend the money that it’s going to take to take Sullivan out, in that scenario it’s possible he’ll look for a partnership, perhaps with Staveley, or somebody else.”
Kretinsky bought a 27% share in West Ham for between £180 and £200 million in 2021, resulting in a dip in the club’s valuation from roughly £700 million.
However, this amount has now decreased by £100 million, with the Gold family holding sold for £150 million, bringing the Hammers’ total value to £600 million.

Derbyshire County (H)

Wolverhampton Wanderers (H

This is a logical result of being relegated from the Premier League, and the London club will be hoping to return to the top tier at the first attempt this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has 11 points from its first six games, including three consecutive victories.
However, they will face great competition for a top-two finish this year, in what may be a closely fought struggle for automatic promotion.

Amanda Staveley is being locked out of West Ham.
Staveley’s interest in West Ham makes a lot of sense given their recent valuation decrease, since she must regard it as an asset that may appreciate over time with the correct level of investment.
The Hammers have significantly more resources than their Championship competitors and should be guarantyd promotion this season.
A return to the Premier League will increase their theoretical value alone, and additional investment may restore the squad to a stable position in the division.
If it can be accomplished within the next few years with Staveley on board, her stake in the club might become far more valuable than the current shares.
However, it looks like Kretinsky has successfully blocked a clear path for her to become a West Ham owner.
