Millwall face a fresh transfer threat involving Femi Azeez, with interest from West Ham and Rangers potentially creating further movement in the winger’s situation.

Brighton and Hove Albion are keen on signing Millwall winger Femi Azeez this summer if Amario Cozier-Duberry were to depart the club amid strong interest from teams in the Championship and Scotland.

Rangers have had a new £7.5m offer for 21-year-old winger Cozier-Duberry rejected by Brighton, according to BBC Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella. He adds the Seagulls are also exploring a move for Millwall’s Azeez if he departs.

Cozier-Duberry had a successful loan spell in League One with Bolton Wanderers last term and with a couple of years left on his contract at the Amex he faces an ultimatum on his future this summer with any move potentially seeing Azeez leave The Den for the South Coast.

The excellent winger has been linked with West Ham and Rangers, with Millwall sure to be watching developments in that area attentively.

Brighton and Hove Albion interested in Millwall’s Femi Azeez

The 25-year-old had a great campaign with Millwall in the English second division last season, scoring 11 and setting up eight in 35 league appearances for the Lions, earning a place in the Championship Team of the Season.

The Nigerian international attracted plenty of attention from Ipswich Town in the January 2026 window, with Millwall rejecting club-record offers from the Tractor Boys for the winger.

The 25-year-old is also thought to have attracted the attention of Premier League side Hull City, who eliminated Millwall from the play-offs on the road back to the top tier, but now face opposition from Brighton.

The Seagulls have plenty of wide alternatives at their disposal, including Kaoru Mitoma, Zadok Yohanna, Ibrahim Osman, Yankuba Minteh and for now, Cozier-Duberry, but Fabian Hürzeler is clearly anxious to add Azeez to the mix.

Kinsella believes the Nigerian international is set to quit South Bermondsey before the September deadline, which would be a significant blow for Alex Neil’s side, whose promotion chances will most doubt be hit in the event of his departure.

This is one to keep a close eye on, with Football League World’s Millwall fan analyst Lucas Ball previously asking for an eight-figure sum to let Azeez go amid interest last year.

Why are Brighton & Hove Albion after Femi Azeez?

Azeez began his career at sixth-tier London side Wealdstone FC, where he played as a teenager before joining Reading’s youth set-up in 2019.

He had a genuine breakthrough year in the 2023/24 campaign, making 89 appearances for the Royals in all competitions, scoring 11 and assisting 11, before moving to Millwall the summer following for about just £1 million.

Azeez came to life last season after a quiet first year at The Den, grabbing 19 direct goal contributions in 35 Championship games for Neil’s side, who just missed out on automatic promotion by a single point.

Azeez is quick, direct and has flair in plenty. He is best used from the right flank where he can cut inside onto his favoured left, just like Cozier-Duberry. The Nigerian might be the perfect alternative for him at the Amex.

Azeez is still only 25 and has plenty of room for growth and development, and with a club who have a reputation for nurturing talent as well as Brighton in recent years, this may prove to be a transfer difficult to turn down.

How have Millwall supporters reacted to this Femi Azeez update?

Brighton are the latest team to declare an interest in Azeez with Millwall fans sharing their thoughts on the news on social media.
