A fresh West Ham update has been revealed, with a new takeover twist emerging involving Daniel Kretinsky.

Amanda Staveley’s attempts to buy a share in West Ham are being considered by Daniel Kretinsky.

The Times reports that the former minority shareholder at Newcastle United has reached an agreement to purchase 25.1% of the Championship team for between £150 and £160 million.

Following David Gold’s death in 2023, Vanessa Gold, who owns the Gold family interest, and Staveley have come to an arrangement.

According to football.London: Earlier this summer, Kretinsky had previously consented to purchase a portion of the Gold family’s shares in the London team, which would have made him the club’s dominant owner at roughly 43 percent. However, this agreement is now in doubt.

Instead, he is weighing all of his alternatives in an effort to prevent the unpredictability of Staveley possibly becoming an owner.

After being demoted from the Premier League the previous season, West Ham is getting ready for the next Championship season.

Daniel Kretinsky weighs all of his choices in light of Amanda Staveley’s interest in West Ham

The Times reports that Kretinsky reduced his ownership of West Ham to 25% by selling 2% of his shares to Czech businessman Jakub Havrlant.

It is believed that the Czech billionaire would be forced to purchase David Sullivan’s shares at an exorbitant price if he owned more than 50% of the London company.

In November 2021, Kretinsky made his first investment in the Hammers, purchasing a 27 percent share in the team. He will become the controlling owner if his most recent move proves successful.

The Gold family owns a 25.1 percent share, which Staveley has already agreed to purchase. However, the arrangement is subject to pre-emption rights, which give the current owners priority on any agreements.

However, it has been stated that Staveley’s purchase could be finalised in the coming days if Kretinsky is unable or unable to employ these pre-emption rights.

West Ham supporters’ opinions about the takeover scenario

Regarding the present takeover issue, West Ham supporters have differing opinions. Some claim that Kretinsky lacks ambition for his vision for the team.

The ownership situation at West Ham is becoming more chaotic.

Kretinsky lined up his arrangement to buy a share of the Gold family holdings earlier this summer, but now he quickly needs to manoeuver his way out of this situation.

He will have to purchase the Gold family’s 25.1 percent stake rather than just a portion of it if he doesn’t want to bring Staveley on board, which greatly complicates the situation.

Even while owning more than 50% may be his ultimate objective, it seems sense that he could want to hold off on doing so for the time being given the potential expense, particularly since the first team squad still needs to be funded.

These behind-the-scenes problems are probably a big part of why West Ham hasn’t signed any significant players this summer.

In the long run, someone with Kretinsky’s influence at the London Stadium might prove to be more powerful than Staveley, as he was credited with helping to keep Jarrod Bowen at the club this summer.
