Norwich City are optimistic about a promotion push next season following a solid finish to 2025/26 under Philippe Clement.
The Canaries struggled in the first half of the season, but the Belgian improved things after taking over as head coach in November.
The 52-year-old managed a ninth-place finish for Norfolk, who missed out on a play-off spot by eight points.
However, the tournament will expand to include two more teams in 2026/27, allowing the top eight to all be in contention for promotion when the next regular season concludes.
So far this summer, the Championship club has signed Sam Field on a permanent basis following an initial loan, as well as Andre Brooks from Sheffield United.
Bruno Alves has also joined Norwich on loan from Cruzeiro, although that is unlikely to be the end of the club’s transfer activity between now and when the market closes on September 1.
Norwich City are interested in recruiting Cercle Brugge players.

According to writer Sacha Tavolieri, Norwich City are interested in signing Cercle Brugge’s Lawrence Agyekum.
The Belgian club is reported to be open to a deal for the Ghana international, who is under contract until June 2029.
The 22-year-old joined Brugge from RB Salzburg on an initial loan arrangement in 2024 before completing a permanent contract last summer.
However, he could be on the move again this year, with the Canaries among the teams interested in signing him.
Norwich may face competition from Austrian club Rapid Wien, who might bring him back to the Bundesliga, where he previously played three games for Salzburg.
The Ghana international moved to Europe in 2022 after impressing at WAFA, and he’s established himself as a key member of Cercle Brugge’s first squad during the previous two seasons.
Agyekum has made 62 appearances in the Belgian Pro League, scoring two goals and assisting four times, helping the club finish 14th in successive seasons.
It’s unclear how much Cercle Brugge will pay to cash in on the midfielder, but they’re said to be eager to accept a deal.
It has been suggested that Norwich and Rapid Wien have inquired about signing Agyekum, but no formal bids have been made.
Clement’s side will open the new Championship season at home against West Brom on August 15.

Lawrence Agyekum, who has played in many positions for Cercle Brugge, can add versatility to Norwich.
That level of adaptability can make him an extremely valuable addition to the club, potentially filling in certain gaps that may arise over the season due to injury or suspension.
He is also only 22, so he has a lot of room to grow and improve, so he may be a good addition if a deal can be struck at the proper price.
Obviously, Agyekum will need to adjust to English football, but he has already moved from Ghana to Austria and then to Belgium, so if a move is made, he should be able to settle very quickly.
