Stoke City suffer transfer setback as striker bid is rejected amid ongoing summer plans.

Sheffield United need to handle the Prince Abdullah situation immediately.

The choice to hire De Marco demonstrates that Prince Abdullah is serious about this issue and will not go away until it is resolved.

He believes he is owed a considerable sum of money, and Sheffield United must resolve this situation as soon as possible.

It would be disappointing for fans if player sales were required to provide funds for payment to Prince Abdullah, assuming he is owed money by COH Sports.

However, if it can avoid a winding-up order, which would result in administration, that will be a preferable option.

Stoke City have plenty of strikers in their current squad.

Milan Smit, Robert Bozenik, Sam Gallagher, Nathan Lowe, and Emre Tezgel are all under contract with the club, but the Robins prefer to play with only one centre-forward most of the time, leaving little room for all five.

Exits are likely, particularly after Pete O’Rourke reported via X that the Potters are poised to make a move for Norwegian attacker Daniel Karlsbakk this summer.

Karlsbakk, 23, began his career at Norwegian club Bryne, which also produced Erling Haaland, before moving on to Viking, Heerenveen, and, most recently, Sarpsborg.

Karlsbakk, who is six feet five inches tall, is a physical specimen who has proven to be a headache for defenders to deal with throughout his career, prompting interest from Sheffield United and Middlesbrough in February.

Although he struggled at Heerenveen, scoring only twice in 39 games, he finished as the Eliteserien’s top scorer in 2025, demonstrating his ability to score goals.

According to Norwegian tabloid TV2, the Potters’ approach for the towering centre striker has been denied.

Though no fee has been specified, Transfermarkt estimates his value at roughly €4.5 million (£3.8 million), which is comparable to the price they paid for Smit this summer when his loan commitment became permanent.

The price is thought to have been less than Sarpsborg’s asking of £3.8 million, and Stoke will decide whether to make another bid at this point.

After a decade of consecutive bottom-half finishes, Stoke are seeking to do everything they can in the market to avoid that happening again next season, as Karlsbakk might join an ever-growing list of players entering the bet365 Stadium.

Mark Robins must make a few tough decisions up top as Stoke City want another center-forward, Daniel Karlsbakk.

If Karlsbakk is actually a serious target for Stoke this summer, Robins will have to make some big decisions about the futures of his present centre-forward alternatives.

After a loan with Crewe Alexandra in League Two, it appears unlikely that Tezgel will be a major part of the plans for next year, but Lowe has shown promise in loans with Walsall, Stockport County, and Wycombe Wanderers; whether he will be in Robins’ plans remains uncertain.

Gallagher has consistently struggled with injuries, and Alan Nixon previously revealed on Patreon that Stoke were considering moving him this summer.

Smit has only recently signed permanently, whereas Bozenik’s season was cut short last year due to injury after coming from Boavista on a free transfer.

Gallagher, Lowe, and Tezgel appear to be the most likely to leave, as if Robins does make a serious move for Karlsbakk, he will face a number of difficult decisions in the Potteries over the coming few weeks and months over the futures of several of his squad members.
