West Ham are gearing up for a busy summer following their relegation from the Premier League.
The Hammers ended 18th in the table, two points behind Tottenham Hotspur.
A 3-0 victory against Leeds United on the penultimate day was insufficient to close the gap, as Spurs also defeated Everton.
Nuno Espírito Santo aims to construct a club capable of achieving immediate promotion to the top flight, as West Ham did after being relegated in 2011.
Top performers’ futures are now in doubt, implying that the London Stadium may see a lot of transfer action.
The change in ownership structure, with Daniel Kretinsky becoming the new majority stakeholder, may help them fend off interest over the summer.
Spurs enter the race for West Ham star Mateus Fernandes.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Spurs have entered the competition to sign West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes.
The London club has reportedly inquired about the availability of the midfielder, despite competing with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.”They’re looking at the market with different names,” Jacobs told Give Me Sport.
“They made an enquiry for Mateus Fernandes, even though the direction of travel there is Manchester United or PSG.
“Real Madrid could potentially enter the contest, but he was another player that they considered.
“Funny, because Tottenham and West Ham just don’t do that much business ever, and yet we might get a flurry now, because the reports, of which I also was one of them, around Crysencio Summerville and Tottenham were legitimate, even though West Ham tried to deny it at the time.”
West Ham are reportedly requesting £80 million for the Portuguese star, who joined the club from Southampton last summer.
However, it is understood that Manchester United are unwilling to meet that number at this time, with Michael Carrick eyeing the 21-year-old during his first summer in command at Old Trafford.
The Premier League club is looking to strengthen their midfield options, but they now have competition from Tottenham.
Roberto De Zerbi is also in his first summer with the club, and he will be eager to rebuild the squad after they narrowly survived relegation at the cost of West Ham.
Fernandes joined West Ham for a whopping £40 million last year and soon established himself as a major member of the first-team squad.
The midfielder appeared in 36 top-flight games, scoring three goals and assisting four times.
He has received numerous accolades for his achievements, which have piqued the interest of several elite clubs, including Real Madrid.
Fernandes is under contract with West Ham until June 2030, giving the club significant influence in any prospective transfer negotiations.
West Ham may stand tough on Mateus Fernandes’ asking price.

While it has been stated that Manchester United do not want to pay £80 million for Fernandes, Spurs’ entry into the race implies it will be simpler to stick to that price.
The Hammers have no immediate need to sell, and the player isn’t looking for a move just now, so they have a lot of options, even with relegation to the Championship.
Real Madrid and PSG are also interested, so West Ham should be certain that they will be compensated this summer if Fernandes leaves.
And if no one meets that amount, and the club doesn’t need the money right away, they may wait another year before cashing in because he stands a good chance of preserving that value if he helps the Irons win promotion in 2027.
