The 10 players that will miss Portsmouth v Ipswich Town have been confirmed.

Portsmouth visit Ipswich Town at Fratton Park on Tuesday evening, and the game will have a significant impact on both ends of the Championship table.

Both teams come into this game off the back of a win, with Pompey scoring a last-gasp winner over Middlesbrough through Conor Chaplin, ending an eight-game winless streak and keeping them one point above the relegation zone.

Victory on the South Coast would put John Mousinho’s side over West Brom and four points clear of the dotted line with four games left in the season, so any wins from here would be critical to their survival bid.

Meanwhile, the visitors know that their automatic promotion ambitions are in their own hands, as the Tractor Boys made a huge step toward securing a top two berth with a 2-0 victory against Norwich City in the East Anglia rivalry. Ipswich won at Carrow Road for the first time in 20 years, breaking a 33-year drought and completing the league double against their bitter rivals.

It puts Ipswich two points ahead of third-placed Millwall with two games in hand, while a win would open up some space and bring them closer to a quick return to the Premier League.

There is so much to play for both sides, and it will be an exciting match to determine who can grab the most points.

With this in mind, FLW has identified the players from both teams who will be absent from the meeting at Fratton Park.

Portsmouth: Florian Bianchini

Starting with the hosts, forward Florian Bianchini remains sidelined due to an injury.

The Swansea City loanee has been out of action since last November due to knee tendinitis and appears to be no closer to returning.

Pompey manager John Mousinho refused to provide a timetable for his recovery last month, therefore he is anticipated to miss the match against the Tractor Boys.

Portsmouth’s Mark Kosznovsky

Mark Kosznovsky is Portsmouth’s next absentee, with the Hungarian remaining on the bench.

He suffered a torn ACL and MCL late in their victory over Charlton Athletic at the end of December, with Mousinho saying the midfielder will miss the rest of the season and is anticipated to be out for 9-12 months.

Portsmouth’s Franco Umeh

Franco Umeh will also miss Portsmouth’s crucial match against Ipswich.

The winger has been dealing with hamstring issues and recently underwent surgery to fix the problem. He has now been declared out for the rest of the season.

Portsmouth: Aji Alese.

Aji Alese, Pompey’s defender, is expected to miss the game at Fratton Park.

The Sunderland loanee suffered a quad injury on his debut against Preston in early February and is now back with the Black Cats to finish his rehabilitation.

His availability for the remainder of the season is uncertain, thus he will miss the match against Ipswich.

Portsmouth: Ebou Adams.

When Ipswich visits Portsmouth, Ebou Adams will be sorely missed.

The important midfielder has been sidelined by a knee injury, which kept him out of their triumph over Middlesbrough last weekend.

Despite the fact that the problem is not significant, Adams has been scheduled to return for next weekend’s massive game against Leicester City, making the midweek meeting too soon for him.

Portsmouth’s Zak Swanson

Full-back Zak Swanson has missed Pompey’s last three league games due to a knee injury, and he will need surgery in the coming weeks to repair the problem.

Swanson was left out of the team against Middlesbrough, and given the short break between games, it will be surprising to see him play against Ipswich.

Portsmouth’s Josh Murphy

Portsmouth’s final absentee is star winger Josh Murphy, who might yet play a significant role in the final stretch.

Murphy, who had 14 assists last season, has been sidelined since December with a fractured metatarsal, but has recently returned to training.

It wasn’t enough to bring him back into the squad against Boro, and Murphy, like Adams, might miss out here and be targeted to return for the crucial game against Leicester next weekend.

Ipswich Town’s Wes Burns

In terms of the visitors, Kieran McKenna’s team will be without attacker Wes Burns.

The Welsh international has been out for about a month with a calf injury, but McKenna indicated he might return this week.

It remains to be seen whether the midweek showdown comes too soon, although Ipswich may want to allow him a week on the training pitch to prepare for Sunday’s match against promotion rivals Middlesbrough.

Ipswich Town’s Ashley Young

Ashley Young, an experienced defender, has been on the sidelines since the end of January.

McKenna described it at the time as a’significant’ issue, and no timetable for his recovery has been established.

As a result, he will be unable to attend the Tuesday meeting.

Ipswich Town’s Conor Townsend

Pswich’s final absentee has been long-term defender Conor Townsend, who has not played at all this season.

The former West Brom player sustained an ACL injury during preseason, ultimately terminating his campaign before it even began.

Townsend is unlikely to play for the Tractor Boys again this season and will not appear on the South Coast.
