Rotherham’s recent defeat extended their winless streak to four games, placing them 22nd in the 24-team league.Rotherham United has released Matt Hamshaw as their first-team manager, according to a club statement.After last night’s defeat at Peterborough United,



the Board decided to remove Matt of his duties with immediate effect.We end our affiliation with an individual who has strong historical connections and a clear passion for Rotherham United, but with the club currently six points from safety in Sky Bet League One,


it was deemed necessary to take action to give the team the best possible chance of retaining our divisional status in our remaining nine games this season.”



Rotherham noted that they have begun the process of appointing Hamshaw’s successor.


In the meantime, Dale Tonge, Richard Wood, and Andy Warrington will fill in until a permanent successor is found.
