Ryan Howsam has issued a clear call to Sheffield Wednesday following the latest takeover situation, urging decisive action.

Sheffield Wednesday are back at square one in their search for new owners after James Bord’s consortium’s proposed takeover fell through.

Wednesday have been on the market since October, when former owner Dejphon Chansiri placed the club into administration, but a takeover deal has yet to be concluded.

The Owls appeared to have found a buyer when Bord’s consortium was named the preferred bidder on Christmas Eve, but amid concerns about whether they would be approved by the EFL, they pulled out of the running last week, claiming that their bid, which has since been revealed to be worth a staggering £47.8 million, did not reflect the club’s true valuation.

Following Bord’s withdrawal, a number of previously interested parties, including former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley, are thought to have approached Wednesday’s administrators, but it is unknown who is currently leading the race.

Last year, Sheffield-born businessman Ryan Howsam collaborated with ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan to investigate a prospective move for the Owls before opting against placing a formal bid, but he now looks to be reconsidering his position.

While Jordan has stated that he no longer wishes to return to football ownership, Howsam has hinted that he may still make a move for Wednesday, but he has indicated that he will not meet the £30 million reserve price and that he will only proceed if he is assured that the club will not be penalized with a 15-point deduction in League One next season.

Sheffield Wednesday fans give their thoughts on the impending Ryan Howsam takeover.

When asked about Howsam’s comments, Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit Patrick McKenna stated he would be open to him taking charge at Hillsborough.

However, he also acknowledged that the clock is ticking and interested parties should make bids now.”Ultimately, the highest bid will win,” Patrick told FLW.If Ryan Howsam is still interested and has a team, consider submitting a bid.”I hope his plans are sustainable, as he intends to rebuild Sheffield Wednesday.

“But there is a very limited time frame for a sale, and fans’ patience isn’t unlimited, so we need them to put up or shut up.He needs to act immediately, submit a bid, and contact administrators.I’m not really for or against him at this point, but I can only say that now is not the time to explore a move.

Simon Jordan, Sheffield Wednesday reveal could impact Ryan Howsam takeover plans

Howsam was working closely with Jordan as the two discussed a transfer for Wednesday last year, but now that the ex-Palace CEO has declared he would not renew his interest in a trade, it remains to be seen whether his plans will change.

While Jordan had a rocky stint in charge at Selhurst Park, he is a well-known personality thanks to his work as a talkSPORT commentator, and having often expressed his fondness for the Owls over the years, he would have been warmly welcomed by the Hillsborough fans.

Given what little is known about him, Wednesday fans may be concerned about Howsam taking over on his own, but he is certainly a wealthy guy who may be able to translate his commercial success into the football world.
