Hull City hit by a double blow after their defeat to Ipswich Town — fans are already reacting to the latest setback.

The Tigers suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 setback at promotion contenders Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.

Hull City will investigate Lewie Coyle’s ankle injury, which forced him out in the first half of Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to promotion rivals Ipswich Town.

Coyle was replaced by Akin Famewo after injuring his right ankle, and he was seen limping towards the dressing rooms at halftime with ice strapped to his foot.

Boss Sergej Jakirovic is concerned that after receiving an initial kick, the Tigers captain twisted his ankle, and he will be tested on Thursday to establish the severity of the problem before Saturday’s match against Millwall at the MKM Stadium.

City suffered another huge setback at Portman Road, with crucial playmaker Matt Crooks receiving his tenth booking of the season, ruling him out of the visit to Millwall and next Tuesday’s game against Wrexham.

Crooks was cautioned for a foul in the second half and replaced by Jakirovic, who was making his first appearance since recovering from a hamstring injury.

“What concerns me is injuries,” Jakirovic told Hull Live.He (Coyle) received a kick in the right ankle, and I believe he twisted it. “We’ll see what the damage is.”We lost Crooksy due to ten yellow cards. Maybe I was stupid; maybe I can put him on the bench and get 10 yellow cards, like an injured player.

I could get penalized, but I see other games. I see everything. I am too long for this, this career, and football. Okay, it’s fair play, and we must be pros. We’ve lost him, but at least he’ll return against West Brom.”
