Jack Rudoni has responded to Coventry City’s significant triple announcement, sharing his reaction to the news

Coventry City returned to the top of the Championship with a key victory over fellow promotion contenders Middlesbrough last time out.

That was a pleasant three points for Frank Lampard, and they were all tied to the Sky Blues, who have been inconsistent in 2026.

However, they will hope that the style of the win against Boro will help the club return to their best, and if they do, Coventry will be a difficult team to stop, as the Midlands outfit has plenty of talent in its ranks.

Jack Rudoni responds as Coventry extends deals for vital trio.
As you would expect from a team vying for promotion, it has taken a team effort to put Coventry in this position, so singling out individuals would be unfair.

Jay Dasilva, Liam Kitching, and Milan van Ewijk have all impressed, often becoming part of Lampard’s back four.

In an announcement released by the club on Thursday night, Coventry confirmed that all three players had signed to new contracts to extend their tenure at the CBS Arena.

All three players were previously under contract until the summer of 2027, meaning they were in the final 18 months of their contracts, so it is understandable that the club moved quickly to safeguard their value while also rewarding the trio for their efforts.

Naturally, this update was enthusiastically received by Coventry fans, and it appears that the Sky Blues players were equally thrilled.

That came after midfielder Jack Rudoni responded to the update on his Instagram account with three heart-eyed emojis.

Will Coventry City gain automatic promotion?

Coventry City is right to reward their players with new contracts.

As previously said, this is a sound business decision, as no club wants players to enter the final year of their contracts.

If they do, you begin to lose leverage in negotiations, and if new terms could not be reached with Dasilva, van Ewijk, or Kitching, there is a good probability they would have been sold in the summer.

Of course, that might still happen, and a lot depends on what level Coventry is in, but the club will now be able to demand correct payments if they do cash in.

Furthermore, the club sends the proper message by rewarding players who have delivered on the pitch, which will be welcomed by everybody involved.

Now, though, the only focus for Dasilva, Kitching and van Ewijk, and all at Coventry, is helping the club to win promotion.

They have fought extremely hard to get into this position over the last six months, and while there will undoubtedly be ups and downs in the run-up, it is an excellent opportunity for the club to return to the Premier League.

Having someone like Lampard in the dugout will undoubtedly benefit the players, as he has been there and done it at the highest level of his career.

It promises to be an interesting game for the neutrals, and Coventry will be hoping that their victory over Middlesbrough will help them get going.
